It looks like my problem is definetly related to writing the tags back when the files are on the NAS. MM had no problem auto-tagging the same files when I put them on a local drive. I'm really not sure why it is having this problem. I've had no problems reading and writing to the NAS with other programs. Other tag editors can edit the tags just fine.

I just tried a little experiment and copied one of the albums that was giving me problems from the NAS to a local drive. Once I added that folder to the library the files showed up with covers. Not only that, but they appear to be covers that were on the before and not the ones I tried adding via MM. So it looks like the problem has something to do with MM properly reading the covers from the tags when the files are on the NAS. But most other files on the NAS show the cover without a problem.

I also removed the original files from my library and re-added them from the NAS. This time they showed up with the proper covers. So I moved on to the next album giving me problems, removed it and re-added. Once again it started showing the old cover. I used auto-tag to change the cover and re-tag the songs. The new tags appear to take but the cover doesn't. Removing the files from the library and adding them back gives me the old cover again and the old tags. It appears the tags are not being written to the files at all.

Can't save album art

Guest,

Can you post a link to a file that exhibits this problem? (e.g. using rapidshare).

Thx.

I'm experiencing the same problem as the original poster with version 2.5.5.996. I select all songs for an album and choose auto-tag from Amazon. In the auto-tag screen all options are selected and all tracks are selected. I also have the option of save cover art to tag selected. Everything appears to work properly and the covert art shows up in the main window. But if I then navigate to another song and back the cover art is gone. If I go into the properties for individual songs and look at teh cover art, there are several blank covers saved (I tried auto tagging several times). I deleted all the blanks and pasting the proper cover art. Again it appears to work but the cover art is not saved when I come back to look again. These are all MP3 files I'm working with. I tried cleaning the tags and tagging again with no success. I made sure none of the files are marked as read-only on the hard drive. The files are all on a NAS on my network, but that doesn't seem to be causing a problem for anything else. I cannot get MM to save the cover art no matter what I try.

Album Art missing from some tracks in an album

Guest,

I can't replicate this problem in Beta 2. Any additional information you could provide would be useful.

e.g. exact sequence of events that always triggers the bug; is the bug specific to any filetypes? etc.

If you can't determine a sequence of events that always triggers the problem, a debug log would be useful.

Thx.

I haven't checked it in this release, but I often not find my album art when playing it with iTunes. Why is it so?

Strange....
Is autotag enable in settings (meaning does MM saves tag info automatically)?
In any case, you can still select the one track with cover, go to album art properties and select aply to all tracks of the same album.
This should do the job...

BTW does the same occures when saving tag inside a folder?

Yes, they are all ticked, and they all get a tracknumber as reference (no question mark). I have tried it on several albums. All the same problem. Is the software discriminating me? ;)

this doesn't happens with me.
Are you sure that the Auto-Tag from amazon window has all your files selected (there should a tick in every check-box at the left of the files)..?

I noticed that the saving of the cover into the files isn't going properly

I select all tracks from one album and try to auto-tag a new album with Amazon. It downloads all info, and also the cover. (I have changed the setting to save the cover into the label, when possible). The cover is gone when i deselect the tracks. I figured out that I had to save it into the mp3 file. So I did use CTRL-S immediatly after I got the information from Amazon. But not all selected tracks are getting this brand new cover... Only one track gets it :(

When I want all the track to have the cover in the label, then I need to download the cover per track, and CTRL-S to 'burn' it into the track.
