I can basically confirm with my iPod touch iOS 4.2.1 that 1625 still is having issues.
When I synched my device MM asked me to clean up the device since it is too full to sync all the files (using the "Unselected Library files" option). When I switched that to "All other media files" it presented me with the whole list of over 2400 files for deletion. I accepted and let the auto-sync do its job. The good news is that it was recopying everything rather than to just leave nothing but a few files on the device and didn't mess-up the Playlists like before.
I was hoping MM would now remember the files after one full sync with 1625 (the device was synced with 4.0.7 before). However, auto-sync is still trying to delete and reload everything everytime.
