You seem to be right with the indexes, tracked as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10973

I was able to play the files on several clients. You should capture the failure to play in a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

Capture:
1) Start MMW
2) Connect to MMW from client
3) Browse to files
4) Play files

Ø does show under O, but for a nordic user, I find this confusing.

The primary reason for submitting the bug was that it's not possible to play the flac files on my Blueray player, as long as MediaMonkey is the DLNA server. With exactly the same files, Serviio does the trick and O and Ø are not grouped.

Maybe the fact that O and Ø are grouped is the cause of the problem? So when looking for files by "Østkysthustlers" the DLNA client requests "Ostkysthustler", but no files are named that way. Therefore they are unavailable. Just a suggestion.

Are you saying it does or doesn't show under O for you?

Hi. The grouping/sorting you refer to is somewhat misleading, because in nordic languages O and Ø does not have anything to do with each other. Nor does A, Å or Ä, even though they look like they are based on the same letter. I reckon this will be confusing for a native nordic user (is for me), as you wouldn't think of looking for artists starting with Ø in the O-folder.

Hi, I see the ticket reply Posted on: 31 May 2013 10:49 PM

Hi Mikkel,

Testing with 4.1.0.1638 I'm unable to reproduce. The Album Artist shows where expected on several clients and the albums files play as well. Is this something you still see on build 1638?
I don't speak dannish, but O and Ø are mixed according to this proposal: - item d) here: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view. ... 740#c35129
Do you think it is bad?

Album Artists with danish letters unavailable on DLNA client

Hi. This has been submitted as a ticket in support more than two weeks ago, but no answer, so now I try here.

I have previously been using Serviio as a DLNA server on my Windows 2008 R2 Std. server. I have a Panasonic DMP-BDT220 blueray that works as a DLNA client.

Some weeks ago I wanted to use MM instead and installed MM 4.1.0.1636 on the same pc and stopped the Serviio.

MM works, except that all Album Artists that has a danish letter in their name, are no longer available on the DLNA client, and the indexing feature groups letters incorrectly (Ø and O are placed together).

Example:
Album Artist: Østkyst Hustlers

1: On the MM server, the Østkyst Hustlers appear at the bottom, which is correct.
2: On the Panasonic DLNA client, they only appear in the [All] index of Album Artists.
3: On the Panasonic, they don't appear when just browsing Album Artists.
4: On the Panasonic, O and Ø is mixed.
5: Even though it's possible to find Østkyst Hustlers in the [All] index, it's impossible to gain access to the files (FLAC) - the client shows an error message that the files are unavailable.
(Screenshots/photos of the above steps are submitted with the ticket: VTK-773156).

With the Serviio it works just fine - sorting and everything.

Any suggestions or additional questions?

/Mikkel
