Have you checked the Device Profile in MMW for the devices. Both the file locations and Playlist location can be customized by the user.

Sorry, my bad. I checked for updates earlier via Help but of course, that doesn't include beta versions. :-?

So I tried my tablet again and by chance there was a MMA update as well so I updated. To be safe (I did this on my S3 as well), I uninstalled MMA and I deleted all previous playlists and files manually. I reinstalled the app and I set up two playlists to sync. The files were saved in Artist -> Album folders again on the tablet; saved in Playlist folders on the S3. The playlist files on both devices contained Null values totaling the number of tracks in the playlist. eg. I still don't understand why they are synced differently.

Null
Null
Null
.....

But the playlists were playable and in the correct order too. So I guess the playlist information is stored in the mmstore.db

I was using MMA on my phonr to just sync my music and was using PowerAmp as my main audio player to play music in those playlist folders as the lock screen functionality of PowerAmp worked better over MMA with my password-activated device. I just tried MMA again with the new version and it seems to now work fine to control from the locked screen.

Current version of MMW is 1644, you need to update as there have been many sync related fixes in MMA and MMW since that version.

I have MM 4.1.0.1625, and the latest beta for Android on my Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 8.

I've had it on my S3 for some time now and when I sync playlists, MM creates folders for each playlist and downloads the files for each playlist to their respective folder including the number prefix so the playback order is correct. It also creates playlist files, m3u, but these are empty. So I just go right to the folder to play.

So the other day I got a Note 8 and wanted the same setup. But when I sync playlists, MM creates folders per album, per artist to store the files, with playlist files in a separate playlist folder. The playlist files are empty too. But now, because the files are in all these album folders, I can't play them as I have them set up in their playlists within MM.

I just find it strange that the app is syncing in two different ways on these devices. I guess the playlist file issue (being empty) is another bug.

I have to say the app has great potential and syncing via wi-fi this way will be awesome in itself once the bugs are worked out. :)
