Well I did copy the files. But only as a last resort thinking that would copy the ratings over. Didn't work, but the ratings were pooched before. So I won't do that again but it didn't cause the problem.

So knowing DB's. The solution to my woes is either a script that runs against one or BOTH DB's. But it can't be the complicated given I can change the stars on MMA and they will transfer over. I can't see how a script can not do [b]For each song, Star = Star Next[/b], if doing manually will solve it then doing a script should as well.

Now MMA may not like scripts, so what can be done inn MM which does allow scripts to achieve the same effect? There has to be something I can do other than 4,000 manual rating changes.

Not copy files to device outside of MediaMonkey or use MediaMonkey to copy files to the SD card directly (when not in device).

Do you mean USB or WiFi? My phone finds the server which I think means it can do this.

My phone also has malware. I've been suffering with it for 2 weeks now so I can get this MM stuff resolved. My only solution for the malware is a full phone reset which I strongly believe will loose the MMA DB. I really don't want to constantly be sent to stupid web pages and dumb games for much longer.

Now realistically, would you like to go through every song (4,000) and change the rating for each manually ? Some how I think you would feel like me really quickly.

So what your saying is that i have wasted weeks of my time. I now need to clear all my ratings and start again and hope that MM - MMA doesn't mess up AGAIN and if it does I am back at square one.

And there is no way that you can provide a script to touch all the files even though there are scripts that can touch all the images for example.

Alternatively add a field in MM/MMA that asks which RATING should take priority when it can't decide.

Unfortunately no. You can't tell which one is right unless you edit track on one side (either in MMA or MMW).

Based on what you wrote here this looks like:

1. The best way would be to open New support Ticket and create LOG file containing two Sync Logs where we can see creation of duplicates and why. See http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69 on how to create Log file

2. Your tracks on MMA had different rating prior to pairing with same tracks in MMW which left MMW/MMA not being able to determine what rating is actually correct eg. MMA or MMW, so it waits for user decision to Edit track rating either in MMW or MMA before it determine which one will be used as correct value and then like you noticed that after edit in MMA it gets synched back to MMW and they are in sync then.

Are you sure only auto-sync (wifi or USB) has and is managing sync? Any manual or outside of MMW syncing at any point in time could explain the problems.

I was asked to turn debug on, which I have done. I have given up on usb and am trying to use WiFi which seems to work better. But it does not create any logs.

I have on my Android 2 folders Music, and TempMusic.THe idea is TempMusic is moved to PC and then becomes part of the regular body of music.
The problem is that I am getting duplicates ike flename(2).mps and filename(4).mp3. In fact I've had upto (11).mp3 of some songs. Also its not just songs in TempPusic either. I am guessing it has to do with the pathing assignments but they all point to Z:\media\mp3 or Z:\media so that shouldn't be a problem.

I have a huge problem with my song ratings on my Andriod and PC being out of sync.

So for example i have 440 songs with 1 star. But only 2 songs in MM with 1 star. If I take those 1 star songs in MMA and change them to 1/2 stars then they copy over (tested with 15). Now I am not going to do this with 4,000 songs. Is there a script I can run which will touch all the songs to allow them to move over?
I have tried
* to copy the entire collection of songs from Android to PC
* and then I tried to change the PC file dates to last year (and update MM Librarry ) but that didn't help.
