Re: Gap near start of music playback
Thanks for the workaround @martin.bohac. On my Pixel 7a, also Android 15, the problem was not a gap but complete silence while the scrubber bar keeps advancing. Sometimes it only happens for the second track played, other times it seems to happen with each (or many) new tracks. I was getting around ...

Scrobbling...?
I have been using MM5 a lot more extensively over the past few weeks. Generally it's working great, but I haven't been able to get it to scrobble to last.fm. This is the section from my mediamonkey.ini: [Last.FM] OptionSheetID=1 Enabled=1 OnlyWithAlbumTagged=0 NowPlaying=1 ForceHandshake=0 Status=1 ...

Re: USB DAC repeatedly ignored
This is a very late response, but thanks for those tips. I have disabled Exclusive and increased the buffer sizes and it has mostly been working much more smoothly. I did have one unrequested Stop during a transition to a new track, but restarting play picked it right back up.

Re: Assistant doesn't recognize MMA as a music player
I recently upgraded my phone to Pixel 5a. I guess the Android Auto app is no longer a thing, but Assistant was able to handle "OK Google, play Baduizm" and the command went through to MMA; plays scrobbled and everything. (I didn't know for sure it was MMA playing until later.) EXCEPT: the tracks ...

[REQ] stream from archive.org
I don't know exactly what the format is at this site, but they do stream direct in the web page as well as offering many downloads. It would be great to open an individual track or an entire recording from MM5 and just play it.

Re: USB DAC repeatedly ignored
Hello MiPi, I put up a new log as you requested. What I did: started DebugView; started MM5; started playback of the track that was already in Now Playing. When it started, the sound came through the headphones; then, after just a few seconds, the audio dropped out, but the track scrubber still ...

USB DAC repeatedly ignored
I've been having problems getting MM5 to play reliably through my AudioEngine D1 USB DAC. I have playback selected for Internal Player, which shows that it has the DAC selected. There is also a Chromecast Audio in the network. The symptom is that when I Play, the sound goes to the computer speakers ...

MMA under ChromeOs's Android environment
Hi, I got a new Chromebook last November, the first time I had one with the Android environment on board. I tried then to install MMA but it wouldn't. But, I just gave it another try... and w00t! It works fantastic. Gapless playback from UPnP to a Chromecast Audio, and it's scrobbling as well. This ...

Re: MM window-restore failure with external script
Checking in here again to report that I've found a solution to this very long-standing problem. In the script above, and in all the Python scripts that I've posted which intercept MediaMonkey's COM events, I have a loop that, basically, executes pythoncom.PumpWaitingMessages() and then sleeps 200 ...

Re: Question: state of scrobbling?
Hey Barry!
Hmm. "On" was the default state, but no fields. I tried changing to Off, exiting and re-entering Options, and turning it On again, still no fields. Maybe a bug, or some kind of UI change?
This is build 2256, on Windows 10.

Question: state of scrobbling? [#16720]
I see there are options under "last.fm service" but no place to enter my account info. Is this not yet supported in MM5?

Re: Gapless streaming [#11716]
I just downloaded and installed the latest MM5, trying it for the first time in months. It's definitely running smoother. I played an album to a Chromecast and it was fine... except for the gaps, like four seconds between tracks. I know that casting is not the same as streaming to a DLNA renderer ...

Re: MM5 Media Sharing via HEOS
TheEmpatheticEar, thanks for mentioning that HEOS support DLNA. I am looking hungrily at Marantz's ND8006, but I hadn't dug into the HEOS capabilities yet.
