I find that using Randomize list and then turning off shuffle is exactly what you guys are asking for. Then you can just look at the list and see what played previously. Solved my problem at least.

I can't figure it out either. I can open up the devices memory card in Windows Explorer and clearly the Artist tag is still populated with the multiple artists. I even tried uninstalling MediaMonkey and reinstalling it.

I right click on my device in the tree on the left and then click "Auto-Sync" from the context menu.
