analyzing volume of ALAC files

I am analyzing volume of my newly encoded ALAC files. It takes around 10 seconds per file. Why is that the song is converted from FLAC 1 or 2 seconds, and takes 5 times longer to analyze the volume after it is encoded. Once thing I have noticed is that if I select more than somewhere between 30 to 4...

check codec in song file

I would like to determine which coded a file uses but I can't figure it out. I have converted FLAC files to both AAC and ALAC format, but both files have an M4A extension. I know that I can tell the difference by the bit rate (AAC is between 200 and 300 kbps and ALAC is between 400 and 900 kbps). I ...

Re: Podcast to iPhone synchronization issues

Thanks for replicating and fixing the first one. As for the second one, I just noticed that the played # value increments on MediaMonkey each time I synchronize with my iPhone on each Podcast with a value => 1. So it appears that the value from iPhone may be correct on the first sync but increments ...

Podcast to iPhone synchronization issues

I am seeing two issues with synchronization to my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.2 using MM 4.1.0.1661. (1) The episode date on the iPhone is not correct. The same date (December 31, 2000) is populated for all podcasts regardless of the date displayed in MediaMonkey. I believe this was also a problem with 4...

Re: 1664 - Podcasts auto deleting?

I believe this is a problem with the Download/Podcasts default settings. The option "Delete episodes older than 1 week" is by default enabled. So if you synchronize after a fresh install without clearing this option, all podcasts older than 1 week are deleted. I learned this the hard way. Can the Me...

podcast download problems

I am having a number of problems with podcasts. First, the date field gets modified by MM from yyyy/mm/dd to yyyy, so I cannot know the order of episodes. Similarly, MM over-writes the file name with the text from the "title" field. The original file name contains the year/month/date. Often, the pod...

converted aac files are almost double rate ~520 kbps

I use MM Codec packet to convert CD and FLAC to M4A format. I always use VBR and 100% quality. Normally, the converted files have a bit rate of around 290 kbps (280 to 310 kbps). Recently, I tried converting an album from FLAC to M4A. For some reason, the converted files has bit rate of around 520 k...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)

Yes, you're right! This something that I'm sure used to work. I'll look into it and get back to you. In the meantime perhaps you can set the auto-convert rules to convert into mp3 format and demonstrate that the sync does work as you want it? Hi MW, I set up sync to convert M4A files to MP3. With t...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)

I've certainly got other users with M4a files. What have you got the extensions defined as for ge iTunes device? The mp3 extension is there because converted files for Mm had no extension at all. The file name is actually irrelevant to iTunes as it uses the id3 information to put on the screen. Are...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)

I always run as administrator. Not sure about the general other users usage, perhaps they'd like to comment. Please change "library" to "Library". That was my mistake, sorry. Further, please collect debug information at the point that MM is started. It is at this point that to internal sources of i...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)

Please download the latest version and post the fragment of the debug trace from near the start of the device initialisation around "getItunesSourceList". Debug list is below. MM is V3.2.2. Used d_itunes.dll from Sep 19. <debug list> Note that I re-ran MM with "run as administrator" and the excepti...

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)

Hi Mark,
I checked the SourceName key. The key existed but had no value assigned to it. I assigned "library" to it. This did not help.

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes device plugin (d_itunes.dll)

I am having trouble getting itunes synchronication to work at all. After setting up, I do auto-sync and it looks as though a synchronization is working, but in the end nothing is synchronized to iTunes. I'm seeing something odd. Under the iTunes icon in MM, there is a folder labeled "All". If I clic...

Re: M4A files are modified with syncing to iPod Touch

Thanks for the reference, nohitter151. According to this reference, volume leveling is lossless for MP3 files, but lossy for all other files. "2. Leveling the track volume of the source file so that it plays back at level volume on any player. This permanently modifies the file and can be accomplish...
