Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

It's beta software and comes with a warning to backup your files. The whole point of testing out the software is to find these types of bugs. Hi, I don't disagree. I am not complaining about the bug. Just the lack of response to suggestions and criticism. . eg. I asked multiple times, without answe...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

in 2257 Custom MM4 DB file is not touched at all. MM5 creates new library in it default paths on import. It dosn't matter if MM5 is installed as portable or not. OK Peke, effectively you say "trust me". I do, but since you have burnt me three times now, I will backup my MM4 db before touching any M...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16718 Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen Peke's latest post there. That report does not seem to address all issues. My major issue would be why the following is not constricting MM5 to its /portable sandbox? I don't see that addressed in the Mantis rep...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

It will be fixed in next build. Petr, some feedback regarding your responses. Your minimalist responses make it difficult to have much confidence that you have understood what has been reported. Could you at least include a link to Mantis tracking of issues? I am sensitive to this issue because it ...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

Ludek, you need to take this issue more seriously than you appear to be. You should consider pulling MM5 version 2256. I think that is damaging tester's MM4 databases, by upgrading them to 5.0.5x. I just installed MM5 again, and it did the same thing. This time I allowed the installer to start MM5, ...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

I have a snapshot after the install, and before MM5 ever ran here ... remember I deselected the Run MM5 Now option in the installer At that point the ini was: [Portable] IsPortable=1 And then when i came back I opened MM5, using the shortcut shown in previous post. It offered to import settings and ...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

MM5 shouldn't contain the DBName until you added it manually ? Tracked as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16718 I would have told you if I had altered the ini. No, I did not alter the ini. I installed MM5 into a new empty directory. I just ran the install program from Rusty's forum p...

Re: My MM4 db has become upgraded to MM5 somehow?

My MM4 db has been upgraded to 5.0.51 for the 2nd time. ... ie. been corrupted The 1st time this happened, I didn't detect it for a couple of weeks, and presumed that I could have made some manual error during an experiment to determine compatibility between MM4 & MM5 dbs. This time I did nothing ot...

Re: Question: state of scrobbling?

I am on 2256 as well, and that is most current release. Maybe an issue with LFM credential import from MM4. I allowed MM5 to import config and database from MM4, but I have no LFM credentials stored there ... I have forgotten how MM4 LFM scrobbling works. I had a quick look, and didn't notice it any...

Re: 2256: error after install and start

I see something similar ... maybe same or different issue. I installed a clean portable version of MM5, and did not check the option to start MM5 from the installer. When i then started MM5 manually, I got this error , and needed to kill of MM5 with the Task manager. ... this time complaining about ...

Re: Question: state of scrobbling?

I see there are options under "last.fm service" but no place to enter my account info. Is this not yet supported in MM5? Hi Mike, if you set the Scrobbler Submission State toggle to "On", it opens a LFM sign in screen, where you enter your credentials for validation. I haven't tested scrobbling, so...

Re: MM5 Sort albums by Release Date

But, now, I can sort by release date in Grid (by album) and can scroll all the way from 1959 at top down to 2020 at the bottom. It's just that the sort does not allow for 2020 to be at the top and 1959 at the bottom? Make sense? Yes. The best way to see the capabilities of each View type is via the...

Re: Should I use MM5 beta or MM4 (June 2020)?

The panel on the right is MonkeyRok . It's very configurable. The primary purpose of it is when you play a track, MonkeyRok will display the entire album and other relevant information related to the artist and album. You can right click on any track and Play Now, Play Next, Play Last etc. View Alb...

Re: Last couple of versions requires Admin rights [#16580]

Hi, please submit a ticket with attached debug log to see more. Thanks! I am not sure that you understand what he is reporting. I think that he is just saying that MM5 requires admin rights during install , which means that he can't install MM5 on PCs where he has no admin rights. ... I see this al...
