MM4 Bad Aero experience [#7198, 7200]

I just installed MM4 beta to see how the progress on the Aero front is. Sadly I had to realize that nothing has improved and things even got worse . For reference, my detailed description of what is wrong with the current look and feel of MM was outlined in Better Native Windows UI (Win7) I ...

Re: List and Tree Views don't use the Aero theme

As far as I know this is being tracked at: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5978 Oh! I really must have missed that one. Thanks for the information. That makes me happy again ;-) Maybe it should be made clear that this not only affects Windows 7 but also Windows Vista (as both use Aero ...

Re: List and Tree Views don't use the Aero theme

Sad to see that not even a bug number has been assigned to this issue yet (or fwiw the description of 2746 still only relates to the skinned version and a different problem). Is this being worked on, still planned or ignored now after some positive initial feedback? I know it was planned for 4.0 but ...

Re: Windows 7 Taskbar Issue

Actually re-pinning is a workaround.

A proper fix would be to make correct use of the Application User Model IDs.

Re: Seek bar and volume control should use a proper slider.

this line of your message leads me to think you want to have part of the skinning features work on the non skin version.? cause it says "replace." No, currently there seems to be some custom widget used which probably has specialized skinning code. There are ready Trackbar widgets . I mentioned ...

Re: Menus don't use the Aero theme

so the vista stuff is wanted in the monkey? just an question for you not to make you mad or angry, but why? The WHY is excessively discussed in the wishlist thread. So please spare this here and keep such discussions there. What would the troubles be of installing vista code in to the monkey, how ...

Seek bar and volume control should use a proper slider.

Disclaimer: Based on this Wishlist thread I decided to open bugs for the separate issues at hand. I think it makes sense to bring them to bug forum (see my post in the linked thread for my reasoning) so individual bug numbers can be assigned. Thanks. Problem: Seek bar and volume control should use ...

Re: Better Native Windows UI (Win7)

The bug tracker is available to the public here: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/ I know that, but I can't find the above issues there and there is no way to open bugs as a user as it seems. So raising issues should be done with the bug forum. And no, I don't consider #2746 appropriate for the ...

Re: Better Native Windows UI (Win7)

As there is no visible progress in this area, I will post the individual issues as separate threads in the bug forum. I came to the conclusion, that the presented issues are rather bugs (in the user interface) than mere wishes. On top of that, I guess that the problems are formulated quite clearly ...

Re: Batch Artist Art Finder - Does it exist?

I should have tested it with Python 2.6 when recommending to install it
Problem was, that the pylast.py I use has a different behavior under Python 2.6 as it seems.

Updated getartist.py

Hopefully this will work now.

Re: Batch Artist Art Finder - Does it exist?

I tried running that python script, but I get "tuple indices must be integers, not str" for each artist. I don't really know enough about python to effectively troubleshoot that...any ideas? If you could provide the line number in which the error occurred and maybe your directory layout (or what ...

Re: Better Native Windows UI (Win7)

Any news on the issues?

I haven't found individual bugs to track (just the 2746 which is quite "generic" or more about the DWM theming issue).

As the beta of MM4 seems to be in the making I wonder what we can expect :o.

Re: Batch Artist Art Finder - Does it exist?

Some time ago I hacked together a little python script to do the job (disclaimer: it was just a couple of minutes work so no warranty ;-)) that gets pictures from last.fm and writes them to Artist/folder.jpg. Save as getartist.py You need to install Python 2.6 and the Python Imaging Library (PIL ...
