Heh. Programming rule #1: users are idiots, and will abuse programs in many unforeseen ways.

While it may make no sense, MM should still act reasonable in the face of idiot users. :D

1177: Don't play dead links

This is a minor bug, but one that is slightly annoying. If you have dead links, select Library/Files to Edit/Dead Links, and double-click on a dead link in an attempt to play it, MM will constantly cycle through all of the dead links. This wouldn't be too bad, except that much of the MM GUI becomes ...

1170: editing podcast subscription download opt doesn't work

Here's an interesting bug: Subscribe to a podcast, and change the "when new episodes are available" to "do nothing" (of course, make sure that customize rules checkbox is checked). Make sure you do all of this, all at once (via the "subscribe to new podcast" -- do not edit the podcast subscription ...

B2 is still broken

That's strange. Do you have any way I could test it? I.e. this problem reproducable using some external server? Btw, does it work with MM 2.5? Or any previous alpha version of MM 3.0? Sorry, I've tried, but everything else seems to work, other than ampache- or jinzora-served music. I've replaced ...

I just used a network sniffer. B1 isn't making any network requests.

Still present in B1

This bug is still present in B1.

Do you need more informatiion? Should I try deleting the database and start from scratch? I don't see how that could help, but I could try it.

Here 's another piece of data:

A8 isn't making any queries to the webserver, unlike 2.5.5.996 (and other programs). There's nothing in the webserver access and error logs to indicate that A8 is even attempting an access.

What's your plug-in configuration, do you use the default installation of A8? It's a default A8 installation, with default plugins. I think I uninstalled the previous A7 before installing A8. I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but Process Monitor shows that MM appears to be ...

Remote playlists broken in B1?

Are remote playlists broken in A8? (Playlists whose songs are referenced via http links, and not as filenames.) I have a playlist generated by Ampache, and this playlist plays fine in Songbird 0.2.5, Media Player Classic 6.4.9.0, and VLC 0.8.5, but not A8. In A8, the playlist loads, but all of the ...

MM vs Songbird

As much as I love MM, I'd like to point out that MM is at version 2.5+, while SB is only at 0.2.1. Hating SB because it isn't as good as MM is like hating your 3-year-old brother because he can't play sports as well as < insert your favorite pro sports player >. Right now, although MM is clearly ...

Well, if MM gets bought out, people might be able to move to songbird (which is probably also MM's biggest potential threat, being free, and cross-platform). At the moment, songbird is nowhere near as good as MM, but could be, in a year or two.

Re: Connected devices

just an fyi, though it may not apply in this case: if a device is appearing even though you don't want to synch to it, you can disable it via the Portable Devices configuration (just uncheck the device). Thanks, but as I wrote above, that's what I tried. The problem that then happens is that, even ...

Current autosync device changes or is not selected

MM 2.5.2.948 RC-2 (I'm not sure if this really qualifies as a bug, or if this is really an enhancement request, so please move this message as necessary.) I have a Vision:M MP3 player, and a USB disk, and both are plugged into the USB ports at the same time. When I start MM, MM wants to make the USB ...

You can ignore this. I'm submitting a bug report. Uh, you are using auto-synchronize, right? MM's UI is a bit klunky here, and synchronizing directories works only if you use auto-synchronize. If you're not using auto-synchronize, the synchronize button only synchronizes whatever you have currently ...
