Re: cannot install script
Oh, boy. I guess I have to learn more about how this script works. I should also back up my database at each step. I selected 10 Otis Redding tracks that pointed to the old drive, ran the script, and copied the old path, and changed My Passport to F: After running it, I see 25 tracks, and most of ...

Re: cannot install script
Success. I have installed the script. I couldn't do it after taking ownership, but it worked after I right-clicked the MM icon and ran as admin. I was initially concerned because I couldn't see it listed among scripts in MM, but with MM running, I was able to right-click on the file from Win ...

Re: cannot install script
Even though you are the admin, try this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/ right click .mmip file > take ownership > try installing script. Just an idea to get you unstuck. If it works, you can hopefully get MM back up and running ...

Re: edit paths en masse
No, it is not the same drive, it just has the same data.
The Western Digital Passport drive failed, but the mp3 data has been restored from backup to a new Lacie drive.

Re: edit paths en masse
Thank you. But as I noted here, I cannot install it, despite repeated attempts:

cannot install script
I am the admin on my computer. When I try to install a script, a Product Installation popup appears, and I click the Install Now button. The License Agreement appears, and I click on I Accept. I then get: ERROR Update was not installed. On the Product Installation popup, there is this checkbox ...

edit paths en masse
I've restored all of my files from backups, and many are in new locations or have paths that don't match what is in the MM database. For example, when I search for B.B. King, all of the paths are shown like this in the database: [My Passport]\MUSIC\B.B. King\The Vintage Years (disc2)\06 King B.B ...

I seem to have solved the problem by renaming the ReadyBoost pen drive from E: to U:

MM directs podcast downloads to wrong folder
I have the latest MM, running on Win7 64 bit Lenovo laptop. Recently re-installed Windows and MM. There were some changes in drive letters after the fresh install, and I found that the Global Podcast Options for Download Podcasts To was set to a thumb drive (E:) running ReadyBoost. So MM threw a lot ...

Re: Compressing MP3s?
I tried this, but the file actually came out larger! I started with an mp3 file that was AM radio quality, and MM identified it as 32 kbps. I compressed it to 24 kbps (shortwave radio quality, according to MM), still about the same file size. Then I did it again compressing it to 16 kbps, which MM ...

Re: Auto-Organize move function
"Sounds like you lack remove rights from the source folder. Try excluding - in your search (so search auto organize)." Yeah, finally realized that searching on auto-organize might mean searching for all appearances of auto that don't have the word organize! Finally searched on organize. Regarding ...

Re: Auto-Organize move function
I found a work-around, which works most of the time. In the Directory Tree, instead of doing this from the directories under Podcast, Subscriptions, I page down to the actual drive location where they are stored. The Move function works most of the time, but it seems to always leave some files ...

Auto-Organize move function
First, the search function on this forum seems to be down. When I search for auto-organize, I get this response: "No posts were found because the word auto-organize is not contained in any post." In an earlier post (filter dar.fm podcasts into different directories?) I answered my own question about ...

Re: filter dar.fm podcasts into different directories?
OK, looks like there is already an answer: http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/webhelp/frame/index.html?changingfilenames.htm Auto-Organize files as a background process. By the way, I did a lot of searches in the forum and Help, but did not run across this. But when I did a Google search: mediamonkey ...

filter dar.fm podcasts into different directories?
dar.fm is a site that lets you schedule automatic recording of radio stations, then download the programs as podcasts. But for all the podcasts, dar.fm only provides me with one login and URL, so all the podcasts from different stations download to the same podcast directory. The podcasts have ...
