Creative Zen Micro - Playlist in file mode

If you use the "filemode" drivers for this unit, instead of the evil plays4sure, playlists are not synched.

Wife just made a nice long playlist. Sent the playlist to the player. All the SONGS are synched, but the playlist is not there or available.

Bump?

Also - I've installed the "driver" from creative's website, but my computer still does not see the device.
Do I need to install some of the software from the CD as well, before the driver will work?

neither playlists, nor files. It seems that files LOAD, but they are not accessable to play on the unit. They take space - I've confirmed that using windows media player to view the files and delete them...

Not being a programmer, I am having a hard time understanding why MM does not work while WMP 9 does... Don't they call the same DLLs that are part of the windows media synch process?

jiri- If I understand him, he wants to add some of the 'plays for sure' type functionality to the MSC mode (win2k and earlier). There are MANY of us who would love media monkey if it allowed us to use these "plays 4 sure" devices on win2k machines....with all the functionality that microsoft says ...

It could solve the problem. Althru I can't garanitie 100%. Search Internet for that DLL it should be findable/downlodable from somewhere. And then you hav all you need. Finding the DLLs would only solve half the problem... I don't have a 'non-production' Win2k machine I can screw with to test it...

While I'm the first goon to think of this, I don't have any XP machines from which to get those DLL's, nor do I have a computer that I could "sacrifice" to the task...

Though I'd love to know if that possibly fixes this problem for good!

I think the important point here is that if WMP 9 can do it then MM should be able to do it. This isn't necessarily truth, we are dependant on WMDM and WMP 9 doesn't have to use it, it possibly uses some workarounds or tricks we can't. Jiri Don't say "can't", Jiri... say "have not discovered yet ...

I think that WMDM so closly related to WMP 10+ which if I'm not wrong can be installed on W2k. wmp10 is XP only, thus the lable on these "plays for sure" product that says "requires WinXP" I think the important point here is that if WMP 9 can do it then MM should be able to do it.

Will do... it would be great if MM could 'emulate' that whole mpt crap without the DRM - i mean, synching/photos/video, etc... As it stands, I can - as the previous posted - put a hunk of files on there using WMP9. MM shows the files as being there, but they do NOT show up at all in any way on the ...
