Re: hotkeys disappear when using Location
I've never been able to login to support. Password? it's the same as the forum. User account? I created a new account on Ventis, and that one can't login. Browser issue? Tried Chrome, Edge, ie, Firefox. Can login to the forum, it seems. Cleared cache, no help. Routing? Could be. No ability to do ...

Re: hotkeys disappear when using Location
Must be time for another full reinstall, because now it crashes almost everytime I try to auto-organize.
Can't login to the support forum despite changing my password. I even tried creating a new user.
Do those crash reports go anywhere? I've submitted a few of them.

Re: hotkeys disappear when using Location
I'm not using a beta, and I don't really care enough to submit a ticket, I was just excited that I finally figured out how to reproduce it.
Size doesn't seem to matter since my database is only about 20MB, I only have a few hundred tracks.
Any number of things could be relevant.

Re: hotkeys disappear when using Location
I was so excited that I figured it out, that I rushed posting. I mean a custom collection. The specific one I'm dealing with now has only one criteria; "Path/Filename" Contains "\music\incoming" Where "\music\incoming" is part of the structure of my library. "Music" is a root folder on drive "F ...

hotkeys disappear when using Location
Sometimes the shortcut keys disappear. Suddenly when right clicking on a file, there are no shortcut keys listed in the context menu. When this happens, shortcut keys do not work, until Media Monkey is restarted. This has been plaguing me for years, and I finally figured out how to reproduce it. In ...

Re: Can't mvoe all files from within MMW
Unfortunately, I have created a new database, and purged all my recent, onsite backups. I am finished with my tagging spree, and now only have music that is recently added. My database is staying under 50MB, and I am so far unable to cause a failure. I'll see if I can find another recent backup ...

Re: More powerful playlist tools (nesting, export, import...
I poked around with other Media Managers and realized why I had so many problems with database corruption. When I explore my database, I go from view to view, and tend to go faster than Media Monkey on my computer can handle. I Start in a tab with a more generic list of items, and find something I ...

Re: Mediamonkey hangs on NAS import
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365247(VS.85).aspx From the Article; "The Windows API has many functions that also have Unicode versions to permit an extended-length path for a maximum total path length of 32,767 characters. This type of path is composed of components separated by ...

Re: Mediamonkey hangs on NAS import
Windows Server 2016, and Windows 10 Anniversary has the ability to override this limitation.
The Insider Preview for Windows 10 from a few months ago added this functionality. There are already Store apps, and some Win32 apps that take advantage of this. I'm told.

How I learned to stop worrying, and love Media Monkey
I get it, Media Monkey works perfectly for a great majority of people. Awesome! Keep doing what you're doing. But there are a subset of users who have issues, and I'm the current most vocal about it, and this is what I have to say about it. First of all, having now spent some time with MusicBee, I ...

Re: Music Bee
Which tags? All of my mediamonkey custom tags show up just fine in Musicbee and MP3tag. Random tags which were written before discovering issues with my database. The majority are fine, but not 100%. These weren't custom tags. These were items such as "Album" and "Artist." It wasn't all tracks, it ...

Re: Music Bee
Turns out, I would have to go through my library again in Music Bee. Some of the tags I synchronized to my files are only readable in Media Monkey. Music Bee, Windows Media Player and Mp3tag see the tags as empty. That's unfortunate, maybe I'll just stick with Media Monkey after all.

Re: Media Monkey 'pausing' between tracks
That's weird. The file must have ripped properly, because otherwise the other application wouldn't be able to read it either. So the problem is with Media Monkey reading the files. I don't believe the problem is in your hardrive at all. That sounds like a problem in the database. I've had things ...
