i ended up having mediamonky move all files to a new location.. then i deleted all remaining folders at the old location and moved everything back again.. a painful process for 9000 tracks but.. it worked

its possible but it doesn't mean i don't want to delete these folders which are seemingly empty

delete all empty folders in a location?
So for some reason mm is leaving behind a lot of empty folders. i thought when i did auto-organize i always had the delete empty folder option checked but it doesn't seem to work.
any idea how i can get rid of these empty folders now?

I installed this addon script and MM says it is installed under tools>extensions... I restarted media monkey after checking that it was up to date (it was) there is no advanced duplicate find and fix in the files to edit node of any of my collections? Toanswer my own question... the node is only ...

figured it out.. it was the "album artist" which needed to be uniformly labeled in the entire album in order for search, (and the media tree for that matter)

so i figured it out.. MM automatically uses the artist to fill in the "album artist" when there is no album artist in the tag.. this is annoying and i would prefer to set it so that it only pays attention to the album title and disreguards the album artist all together. so i went in and tagged them ...

I have many albums with multiple artist contributors.
they all have the same album but in the media tree, when i scroll through the album subfolder thing, it lists the albums as <album>(<artist>)
How do i fix this?

i did double check my tags were synchronized.
but no i didn't check to see if it is set as an "album"
is it in the properties of the file? or how do i set it up as an album?

Thanks, the Ac3 filter download also fixed my DVD sound.

advanced search issue
I'm trying to use the advanced search feature to reveal those random loose tracks which are not a part of any real album.. i select in the advanced search criteria: # tracks in Album<= '4' so i do this but for some reason it still reveals albums like 2001 by dr. dre and friends..it doesn't reveal ...

also can i install media monkey gold using my license key on my laptop and my computer? do i need to make sure my computer has my name somewhere so that mm knows that it is registered to me?

ah yeah thanks i have tried the collection thing but i didn't realize how powerful that could be.. Thanks!
