Update:
This is not a Kenwood issue. My new Sony digital head unit has the same issue. Also if I convert a FLAC file to ALAC using Dbpoweramp and upload it with Mediamonkey only, that Alac file can be played using the head unit, but not the other Wav files.

The files in "iTunes Library.itlp" are different using MM vs Itunes. Most are larger in the MM version. I don't know how to read/extract them to see the difference.

Navigating the Ipod from the head unit only works after ejecting the Nano using Itunes. I have not tried anything with playlist yet.

Update. I do not have to write files with Itunes. I sync with MM, then open Itunes to read the Ipod, then eject. The Kenwood browses the files correctly.
