Here's a possible way. a) add a new row to the medias table describing the new drive b) write sql to update the idmedia in the mdb tables for the songs you are moving. Tables appear to be: songs and playlists c) actually move those files sql I suppose would look like: UPDATE SONGS s SET s.IDMedia ...

synchronizing tags is slow
Hi, using 2.2 final I noticed that synchronizing id3 tags is slow, and looking at task manager, monkey is reading & writing lots and lots and lots of data. In my environment, my mp3's are on a network drive, as is my .mdb. --windows xp, sp1 --netbios disabled --mp3's are on a UNC path, e.g ...

Look at stats about your collection from excel
Here's a simple query that I defined in msqry32.exe that, when run, generates an excel spreadsheet with the 200 artists in my collection that have the most songs. Your mileage is probably going to vary-- some of the stuff in there looks like magic numbers. However, I thought this was an interesting ...

Mediamonkey is the only app that's been able to scale for my collection. So the browsing of all the artists and playlists has remained snappy despite the volume of data. On the other side of things, I've never seen such a good tagger / info editor as the one integrated into mediamonkey. Really handy ...

rc2:auto tag bug?
when I hit control-t to bring up the autotagger, the old style tags don't seem to work any more: <artist> <album> .... instead I have to use %A %L ....
The dialog help text doesn't reflect this change and advises me to still use the old ones

I'd like to weigh in with a vote against adding fancy portable handling/cd burning/cd ripping functionality. This is a really great cataloger/jukebox and, bear with me, I want to see it grow like google and not like yahoo/lycos/excite/....... That said, I guess it makes sense to keep users happy ...

rc2: last 50 played playlist is broken
The last 50 played playlist doesn't return any results. I've included what seems to be the relevant part of the debugview log. I tried creating a new autoplaylist filtering on played# > 0, but that one also fails to return results. When I the autoplaylist definition again for editing, it shows up as ...

I have the same problem on my home computer -- I had win xp sp2 rc1 installed on it and thought that could be it, but I uninstalled that and the problem persisted. mdac 2.8 & jet 4 sp8 reinstallation didn't affect the error message either. I believe it has office 2000 sr1 installed. the next thing I ...

feature request in auto playlists
Can the "added" property be available for auto sorting?
So I can see the most recently added tracks.
Thanks!
Ron
