Good news! Finally cracked it.

Just use VAC with VBAN and I'm good to go. All I need now is to tweak a few things regarding volume on my side, but it works perfectly on my bf's pc.

I'll come back and detail the solution later for reference in case there is any other crazy out there like me.

EAC does not pick up the song titles either so I have to manually type them in. Not to hijack this thread, but I do not type in my song titles unless I have something very obscure. Alt-G contacts freedb and from there the artist and song titles are filled in. From there all I need to do is tweak ...

I use EAC also and album art is not added at the time of MP3 creation that I'm aware of. I need to add it manually after in MM.

I've finally caved and ditched MMJB for MediaMonkey. So that I could get up and running ASAP, could someone let me know how to 'browse' my music by Album Art?
