loads of broken links/unknown location in database

For some reason MM keeps messing up the database as it relates to podcasts (specifically, under the podcast subscriptions view). Firstly, weird stuff sometimes happens when downloading podcasts - they end up with wrong tags or multiple copies of the same podcast, or once-in-a-blue-moon MM actually c...

[SOLVED] my licence number has become invalid for no reason

Windows had a stroke and had to be reset. So had to reinstall everything, including MM. Have a gold licence for mm4.x But I now can't register it as it says the licence number is invalid, even though it's cut-and-pasted straight from the original invoice email when I purchased it. I can't seem to lo...

Re: Odd bug with smart playlists and dates

Indeed, just doing an advanced search for podcasts between 01/11/2014 and 01/12/2014 (no other criteria) returns podcasts with dates of October 2014 as well as November.

Odd bug with smart playlists and dates

Strange little glitch. I try to have playlists for podcasts with a 'transmission' date within a given month. So have a 2017-01 playlist, 2017-02, etc, upt to 2017-12. Using the smart list 'date' 'is between' criteria. So, is within 01/10/2107 and 01/11/2017, for example. Puzzling thing is that YYYY-...

OK, when I can find time to do it I will do that.

(in the meantime I've resorted to forcing it to sync what I want with 'send to' rather than autosync).

Re: Upgraded to 4.1.12.1798 - can no longer sync any device

Eventually managed to get it to sync, by letting it delete half the tracks, then disconnecting it and reconnecting it and then leaving it to spend 24 hours resyncing everything again. However it _still_ won't recognise when a track has changed and resync it. It pretends to, but all it actually does ...

Re: Upgraded to 4.1.12.1798 - can no longer sync any device

Hmmm....have managed to work-around it by going to the plug-in directory and copying the mass-media-device plug-in to a new one, then creating a 'new' device in MM using the 'new' plug-in, with the same settings as the existing one, and re-associating the ipod with that 'new' device. It then scanned...

Upgraded to 4.1.12.1798 - can no longer sync any device

MM was (mostly) working. Updated to latest version, then found none of my rockboxed devices will sync any more. It scans them, decides there is N Gb to sync, then if I hit 'autosync' it says 'preparing list of files' for a little while, then that text disappears and nothing at all happens, it just d...

media monkey keeps losing podcasts

I started downloading a large backlog of podcasts, and MM seems to have gotten slightly brain-damaged as a result. Its behaviour is so complicated and weird its hard to explain, but... Firstly, it keeps losing certain podcasts that have already been downloaded, and even synced or copied to a back up...

Re: MM confused by clocks going forward

Well there's definitely something odd going on. Synced several ipods, and on every one it removed and resynced several Gb of tracks for no obvious reason (e.g. all my audio books, that haven't changed for ages). Took quite a long time. I can only suspect it has something to do with the clocks going ...

MM confused by clocks going forward

Just tried to update my player's library, and MM is insisting on removing and resynching the entire 300Gb or so of content, when only a few files have changed/are new. I'm sure this is the same problem that occurs with robocopy, due to the change to BST, i.e. the clock going forward. As the player i...

Re: MM refusing to resync changed files

Any ideas? Its still doing it. If I have to keep working out what files have changed and forcing it to sync them 'by hand', I figure I might as well give up on MM and go back to using robocopy again. At least Robocopy can tell which files have been changed. Probably should have made clear its a rock...

Re: MM refusing to resync changed files

Still having the problem. Only way it will update changed files is if I select the changed files myself and use 'send to'. If I sync using the sync smart playlist ("all music" - exactly what it says) it only changes the timestamp on the already synced lower bit-rate files on the device, but doesn't ...

Re: MM refusing to resync changed files

How did you update the old with new files in MediaMonkey itself? By re-ripping the cd with exact same track details/names, so that it over-wrote the existing files. The files in the library are now the higher bit rate ones, but MM doesn't seem to realise they are different to the ones on the player...
