USB3 sync bothers playback
While I sync albums to an USB3 stick I can't play music. Music constantly hampers; sounds like a badly damaged record.
I would think that the different cores of the processor would handle this.
Very annoying!

Re: Extremely slow syncing of iPod
In another post I write about a diagnostic test for an iPod.
It seems that after the test the iPod has been revived. I keep my fingers crossed and keep prepared for failure.

Apple iPod diagnostics
I had problems with iPod synchronization, which turned out to be caused by hard disk failure, probably. Googling about apple HD problems I came across that the iPod has a diagnostics mode . I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in the Mediamonkey forum. The result of the HD test for me was Retracts ...

Re: Extremely slow syncing of iPod
I had seen it already. Interesting. But a hard job, it seems. I did this with my iPod Video a couple of years ago. It was not that difficult. As long as you're careful, it works quite nicely. Thanks. Good to hear. While the interface is no longer that great by today's standards, the hardware still ...

Re: Extremely slow syncing of iPod
"Insert device in H:" (or similar) usually point to hardware problem. Have you tried to do factory reset even it will loose all the data on device? I did reinstall the OS through iTunes. That seemed to work. But the problems (non accessible iPod) reappeared. Here is one interesting read about ...

Extremely slow syncing of iPod
It takes about 6 hours to sync 300 songs. Still 14k songs to go. I'm reinstalled the (apple) software on my 160 GB iPad through iTunes and I am now resyncing it through USB (of course). Much of of my music has to be transcoded from FLAC to ALAC. Still my computer mostly is idling (0.1 % CPU load ...

Re: Downconverting FLAC files
dBpoweramp does. It's not free, but has a 21 day trial period. [Enough for this one time use.] I get the impression it is the kind of de-facto satnadard for music file conversion (and a lot more). I haven't been able yet to find something freeware.

Downconverting FLAC files
I bought music in 96 kHz/24 bit FLAC format. Unfortunately I can't play this on all my devices (MM does!). Is there a way (plugin?) to downconvert this files to the usual 44 MHz/24 bit FLAC's? I also can't find a stand alone application that does this. One way I found out is to burn the files to a ...

M reo complex "Swap the first and the last name" script soug
First, thanks a lot for the RegExp Find & Replace script. I used to be an avid user of Mp3Tag, but, sorry for them, I completely switched over. I'm an old (Unix ed(!)/vi/etc) RegExp. hacker, but still have to learn VB scripting. What I'm looking for is a preset that swaps the first and last name of ...

Is there a way (plugin?) to export them all at once?

Re: Converting Beatles Remastered from FLAC to MP3
I have the same setup: Beatles (remastered ) in FLAC on MM en on my SqueezBox. Autoconvert (320 kbps) to sync to iPod.
I created an Auto-Convert filter for FLAC in the iPod device plug-in. I didn't notice any great speed problem.
