WHO DESTROYED MEDIAMONKEY???
Long-time MM user, "upgraded" to 5.0.1.2431. God, what a disaster! It PUT the library IN THE ROOT of the disc? Didn't that end with DOS 3.11? And there's no place to CHANGE IT! Not in "Options". MM knows what the album is, but saved NONE OF IT, just stored "unknown album" -- NICE JOB! How do I ...

What are people using? MMA is AWFUL!
I use MediaMonkey Gold on a Windows 10 desktop, but on my Android phone (Galaxy S9+) my needs are SO SIMPLE and yet I can't find a simple music player. Rather than BUY all the features when it's already a disappointment (MMA should be free with Gold), I'd like to just solve this. I just tried MMA ...

Updating tags
I've used Media Monkey for a while now, and found both tag "textual" and album art handling wanting. I still use it for ripping CDs, but for metadata management, I'm using Mp3Tag. It's free / donateware but it's really good. Here's why! You can drop an entire artist "tree" (with multiple album ...

Re: Synchronized playback multiroom [#7090]
An alternative to Sonos is the (Denon) Heos product. It does not require a "hub" making the buy-in lower, but it does need either local media or DLNA. They have a "CD replacement" product without an amplifier, for use in your main system for an even lower buy-in. Synchronizing music playback in many ...

Re: I Want a PlayList Manager!
It's kind of funny; what I see here are users wanting app-independent play list behavior, and Media Monkey wanting to be all "Apple-esque", with everything being MM-centric. Of course, you can sync to a portable device... BUT only if that device is running MM! (and you bought the premium product, as ...

Re: Need better reporting, with filespec data, not just tag data
Too much data is spread across Tag data and OS "attributes" data to be able to rely on only one or the other. The data MM(W) outputs as a "report" only seems to include Tag data which can't really be used to produce a useful album list. Ideally, I'd want all tag data, complete filepath data and all ...

Re: Add album art WHEN you rip the disc?
If I had "previously added CD to library", wouldn't I be doing it twice? I was really trying to do it ONCE. As I noted, the problem is really two problems, first that it doesn't work, and second that the user is allowed to pursue a path that is not going to work. I changed my process and added ...

Re: Multiple CPU, CD to FLAC ripping
I was happy to find this thread as I wanted to know if using multiple drives would "work". I may be ripping a few hundred CDs soon, and I can easily put three more optical drives on the system, but I was afraid that MMW wouldn't thread the tasks, but would serialize them. Yes, "CD" optical disc was ...

Re: Album Art Tagger 5.2 - Updated 26/10/2013
OK, I figured out that a Script is an "Extension" so I got it installed. Now I have a folder with artist\album folders under it. Every folder with sound files has a FOLDER.JPG file there. Is there some trick to this "mask" thing? Or will it just imbed the accompanying .jpg into the tracks? I hit OK ...

Re: Need better reporting, with filespec data, not just tag
Well yes, I suppose learning a scripting language is one way to get the data out, but it doesn't seem quite as user-friendly as just dumping it to a CSV file. Alternatively I could use an entirely different program that might barf up all the metadata along with file system data. Is there such a ...

Re: Album Art Tagger 5.2 - Updated 26/10/2013
Yes, I see your script! It's in <ProgramFiles>\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\AlbumArtTagger52.mmip. It was apparently loaded when I bought and loaded Media Monkey. Great. (the other script in AUTO is: DiscogsAutoTagWeb_V5.58.mmip) Now I go to Tools-> Scripts, and I see five scripts, none of them yours ...

Need better reporting, with filespec data, not just tag data
What I need from reports is two things: 1) an artifact to help me located incomplete media content (data) within my collection, that has evolved over decades. 2) a concise list of all my artist/albums to carry with me, so that I can avoid buying things I already own. As far as I can tell, the ...

Add album art WHEN you rip the disc?
When ripping multiple discs, it seems logical to get the art, size it etc., and drop it into the Properties-Artwork THEN, and have the art added to the tag as the media is ripped and the (flac) files created. But Media Monkey (A) doesn't do this, instead tossing the carefully-tailored artwork into ...

Add album art to ALL files in an entire directory TREE?
The scenario: You rip a hundred discs from a box you found in the closet. You either scan or go find all the album art, putting each one in as "folder.jpg" in each album folder. (because other media players want it there, in that file, CALLED THAT, (Sonos). What you really want is to tell Media ...

Play (and hopefully CONVERT OUT OF) .wv format?
.WV files aren't recognized by Media Monkey. No reason to get into why this new format was "necessary", but will Media Monkey support it (and hopefully facilitate getting files converted OUT of it)?
