Just upgraded. Constant error [#11874]

Post by tjp253 »

I've just upgraded to 4.1. It seems like every click in the database gets greeted with a response such as what follows:

There was a problem querying the database:
Error executing SQL “SELECT ArtistsSongs.ID FROM ArtistsSongs WHERE ArtistsSongs.IDArtist=? AND ArtistsSongs.PersonType=1 AND ( ArtistsSongs.TrackType in (0) AND (Ocassion = “ or Occasion = null ) )
“ : no such column: Occasion (1, 1)

And yet, if I press ignore, the artist then shows, or the song plays etc etc.

Please can someone help, as this is very bloody annoying!!!

Are you displaying the Occasion column?

Occasion column???

I've been using media monkey for 3 years now, and no problems. I haven't changed anything from 4.07, only upgraded.

Occasion is a Classification field and can be shown as column in the main list. I'd also suggest checking the Collection rules and see if you set a rule with Occasion.

You can also capture the error in a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69

Just seen your reply. I checked last night, and for my main music collection it has filter of "Occasion: is unknown". This is so I can keep all the christmas music separate!! Now, the christmas collection (Occasion = christmas) works perfectly fine...

So the problem is resolved (and the problem was Occassion is unknown)?

No, the problem is not resolved. It says that the error is that it can't find "occasion is unknown", and yet has that option as a rule. It worked previously. If I remove this rule, then I'll get christmas songs mixed in with the rest of my collection, which I do not want.

I have all of my Christmas songs tagged with Christmas in Genre. Then you can filter out Christmas songs in the criteria for Collections where you don't want them.

The error seems to be missing an ", however I can't reproduce. Adding the criteria Occasion is unknown to a Collection doesn't give an error here. Have you tried to create a new Collection with the desired criteria? Does it still fail in the same way?

If so I suggest you create a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69

Hi, I also cannot replicate your issue and actually I don't understnd how this kind of SQL was constructed.

Could you please locate your database file ( MM.DB ), compress it to .zip, upload it somwhere (e.g. DropBox) and attach or send me the link?

Here's the default locations of this file:

o Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MM.DB

o Windows 8 / 7 / Vista:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MM.DB

This woould be very useful to me to troubleshoot/fix the issue.

Thank you.

Sorry, take it back, I don't need the log anymore, the key is to create collection with conditions [Type=Music], [Occassion is Unknown] and then I can reproduce your issue.

Thanks, will be fixed in the upcoming release.
