My MediaMonkey died in the last 2 days for some unknown reason. I've never had any problems with it before then two days ago I tried to open MM and the opening screen came up, and is quickly interrupted by this Widows error dialogue box:
"MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working:
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..."
It waits a few seconds and then completes with this message:
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution available."
As far as I know, absolutely nothing has changed on my computer during this time. Since I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MM and installing the latest version. I still get the same message.
Any suggestions? I already miss MM and want it to work again Thanks!
No offense to nohitter (anyone that's given that much help deserves to be in the hall of fame!!! L-E-G-E-N-D!!) but I disagree with MUCH respect in that I don't think he/she meant that upgrading ONLY to the latest version would help. What is probably happening is the database file for MM has gotten corrupted (it happens...nothing you can do to avoid it or prevent it but don't worry, it doesn't happy all that often). The best thing you can do is a basic uninstall/reinstall. It won't take too much time to uninstall or reinstall. The time it takes, however, to rescan for your files depends on things like processor speed and the size of your library.

But MediaMonkey 3.1 has a compatibility issue with the latest iTunes and Quicktime builds. Upgrading to 3.2 solves this issue for 99% of users.

Thanks for that chaps, reinstalled again, ( and again) and now it's working. Hope it keeps going. By the way, It was a recent version anyway, cos it's a new PC.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I've already done that and it didn't work.
To be explicit, I tried completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the latest version (3.2) on my computer and I still get the same error message.
Any other ideas about this corrupted file and how it can be fixed, or if it's some other problem altogether??

looks like it was the d_iphone.dll file that was messing with things.
Thanks for the help!!
Which means something is wrong with your quicktime. Keep in mind next time you update or reinstall MediaMonkey, you'll have the same problem again, so it would be wise to fix the actual problem.

I have been a lifetime Gold user for many years, and have loved MM through many versions. I just bought a brand new monster workstation, with a w3540 Quad Xeon, nVidia GX275, 8GB of fast RAM, and this thing flies. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and have it running everything else superbly.
I installed MM 3.2 and it was working fine for a couple days, until today. I am now getting the dreaded "Audio library has stopped working" error. I can run the "unskinned" version, but not the normal MM version, whic would lead me to believe I have a corrupt skin or something, but I can't seem to isolate that either.
I've tried uninstalling and purging any, and everything, having to do with MM, in Program Files, Appdata, and the registry. I've reinstalled at least 5 times with the same results every time.
Nothing new had been installed, and iTunes and Quicktime were not even on the machine yet. Since I was having this problem, I decided to install iTunes 9.0.2.25, which also installed the latest Quicktime. I wanted to see if this would help, but it didn't.
I renamed d_iphone.dll, and d_ipod.dll just for good measure. No go.
I've gotten it to run, but it requires running as Administrator. I know I had it running before without that option, but that is the only way the skinned version will run now.
What other compatibility options are you suggesting need to be set?
Why would MM now require running as admin? That isn't a long term solution.
I have already installed MM as administrator, wihtout positive results, but I will try again. Anything to resolve this issue.
What I take from your response is that what I am experiencing is not normal behaviour and is unque to my set up. If that is true, I need to keep plugging away until I figure this out, as the current situation is not acceptable, and not what I have experienced with MM in the past.
