Cannot recognize or play CDs

Cannot recognize or play CDs
For some reason, I cannot play audio CDs with MediaMonkey. It can see the number of tracks, but they are grayed out. When you try to play them, they playlist cycles endlessly at super speed (if repeat is on), also gray. Windows Media Player works fine. This is so frustrating. I have used MM for years now and never had this problem. Any help out there?

Re: Cannot recognize or play CDs
Thanks for trying, but I found that already and it was not helpful. I am not experiencing anything in that article. Why would WMP work and not MM? The "D:\" drive (CD/DVD) does not even show up in the tree on the left. In "File Types" Mediamonkey is default for CD audio. Arrrgh!
Re: Cannot recognize or play CDs
MediaMonkey doesn't seem to play from the CD/DVD reader
It can see the audio CD title, track numbers, and track length, but all are grayed out.
If I try to play the album, the tracks try to play but fail - no error, just skips to the next song.
If I right-click on the CD drive in the tree and select "Get Album Info from Freedb" I have seen the following errors:
"No Audio CD was found. Please insert a CD." or "The media for the Freedb query is unavailable."
If I right-click on the CD drive in the tree and select "Rip audio CD" I get the following error:
"Access violation at address 06932FF2 in module 'hpCDBurn.dll'. Read of address is 00000000."
Problem is only with my user on the computer. Logged in as administrator there are no issues.
As my user Windows Media Player plays CDs fine.
It used to work great - not sure what changed!
