Last.FM Scrobbler Plugin causes Audio Library crash

Post by di7ra »

Hello.

First over all, i'm sorry if here is already topic about the same problem but i didn't find any.

Here's a problem. I'm running MM v.3.1.1261 Gold and Last.FM Scrobbler plugin v.1.0.2.21 under Vista SP2. If i'm trying to start player not skinned the plugin cause Audio Library crash when skinned variant runs pretty smooth. I don't like to use any skins so it would be wonderful if here is a way to solve it.

Thanks.

Are you sure that you aren't being affected by this:

(this would especially affect you if you've recently updated to iTunes 9 or latest Quicktime)
MediaMonkey user since 2006

I don't have installed iTunes, nor QT. Also if i remove gen_LastFMScrobbler.dll from plugin dir i don't have that problems.

Here's crash log, but it's local language (russian): [link].

Got a solution if someone else have that problem as well. I thought: if library file is placed in user profile dir then here could be some problem with access to it. Skinned version gets access properly when not-skinned one doesn't by some reason. So i tried to launch not-skinned version with Administrator privileges. It worked.

Thanks all.

Basically all you need was to set non skinned exe properties to Run As Administrator?

Yes: run as administrator. I don't know why last.fm scrobbler plugin causes that problem and causes it only for not-skinned variant but it is.

I guess that UAC/Firewall is Closing MM due the fact that Scrobbler is trying to send info to remote site :(

Not in my case. Currently i don't have any firewall (and working even not behind router). Also MM was not blocked but crashed. So... Well, it doesn't matter now as soon as it runs well with admin. privileges :)

It is known UAC issue with not just MM, so check same in case of other program problems.
