Tree Node Continually Show Up
Lately the Artist & Album Artist node has been showing up in the tree node even though it is not selected in the filter. It won't go away unless I right-click the tree node, click Choose Tree Nodes and click OK.
I have also found that Nodes I choose in the filter, such as My Computer and Now Playing, do not show up and that those I do not choose, such as Web and Net Radio show up.
Thoughts?

Maybe any new changes aren't saved due to MediaMonkey not closing properly??

The behaviour just started about a week ago. I haven't done anything in MM during that time...I don't think.

Do the nodes hide if you switch to another filter and back?

They do not. To restate what is happening...nodes I have checked are not showing and some nodes not checked are showing. Nothing seems to change that except if I right click in the tree and click choose nodes, one node (Artist & Album Artist) disappears.

Re: Tree Node Continually Show Up
I had this problem before with the "Net radio" node, it turned out that some old entries in the MediaMonkey.ini file were causing problems. Maybe you want to try starting MM with a new MediaMonkey.ini file.

Re: Tree Node Continually Show Up
Just so I understand correctlly, I'm not as knowledgeable as others, if I rename the MM ini file (while MM is closed, right), and reopen MM, a new ini will be created?
And then if everything is ok, I can delete the renamed ini?

Yes, that's right. The settings in the .ini file are mostly not very important, because you can always reset your MM settings as you remembered how they were before. But it's a good idea to keep a backup just in case.rrfpacker wrote:Just so I understand correctlly, I'm not as knowledgeable as others, if I rename the MM ini file (while MM is closed, right), and reopen MM, a new ini will be created?

Re: Tree Node Continually Show Up
I renamed the ini, restarted MM and I get a message stating something like "since this is the first time you've started Media Monkey, it will scan to find audio files".
Do I just cancel that? Sorry for the ignorance...I don't want MM to get screwed up.

Re: Tree Node Continually Show Up
Wow, that was more fun than any one person should be able to have.
Now, after changing the name of the ini, I have even more nodes that show up. I have checked/unchecked/ and created new filters. When I check/uncheck web something else not previously checked disappears but web stays. That continues until all the nodes I want unchecked are gone and then it goes. And I'm getting an error message saying \Scripts\ABackup2.vbs line 58 char:7 permission denied.
Also, now the Tag Cloud script starts showing up and I get the Media Monkey home page in my main window. Something weird is going on!!!

The homepage shows on first run and when you renamed MediaMonkey.ini it was considered a first run.

And the script errors are also attributable the MediaMonkey.ini. Ignore that stuff and concentrate on the tree nodes. Is the problem still there or not?rrfpacker wrote:Wow, that was more fun than any one person should be able to have.

Re: Tree Node Continually Show Up
Yes, problem still exists. One other behaviour I've noticed.
For example if I have Web, Net Radio, and My Computer unchecked, they appear. In order to get rid of them, I have to check them and uncheck them one at a time. If I check all three, only one disappears and if I recall correctly it's whatever one is toward the bottom. And sometimes it takes three or more tries to get them to hide.
Changing filters back and forth does change the behaviour.
