MM4 portable mode

Post by pjdancer »

Hey ya'll,

I cannot figure out how to set the portable mode in MM4 there was no option when I downloaded it.

Also I loaded mediamonkey 4 onto an external HD and all the songs to the external. And it works fine on the laptop. But when I connect to the PC the setting and libraries are not the same and the songs are grey in the library. It shows the files extension as being locate in the C: on the PC and on the laptop they show as located in the I: (external)

There's a checkbox for portable install in the MM4 installer. If you don't see it, you're probably installing an old build. Make sure you're using the latest one available.

Hi there, I have just installed the portable version of MM4. All the Extensions from my previous, non-portable version are showing in the portable version Extensions list. Why is portable using the Program Data folder? It's portable - it shouldn't be using folders outside of its own install folder. Cheers.

Sorry nohitter151, For some reason I guess I didn't think of it as a bug which, of course, it is. I was just replying in the original topic. I've created a new one in the MediaMonkey Beta Testing forum. Thank you.
