Problem When Rating Songs In A Preview [#9214]

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a bug. This is my first attempt at using Previews so I don't know if this happened in prior releases. I'm running MM V4, B1464 Lifetime Gold portable install on a Synology DS410. I'm using all URLs - not mapped drive. This occurs from runing MM from my main XP Professional, SP3 system or from my W7, SP1 notebook.

I successfully created a Preview that has 231 songs. The Preview parameters are Start Time= 0 and the End Time= 20 seconds.

To play the Preview, I selected it from the Media Tree which loaded it into the "main window". Play Now was not selectable at this time from the Play menu so I went to Edit and Select All. Now Play Now was selectable, so I chose it and the Preview started to play and each song played for 20 seconds and the value at the end of the seek bar showed 20 seconds.

Now here is where the problem occurs. If I try to rate the currently playing song with either setting "Stars" on the Now Playing window or by using the shortcut keys the following happens:
1. The updated rating is shown by the "stars".
2. In the Player the time at the right of the seek bar changes from a length of 20 seconds to the actual length on the "non-preview" song.
3. When the song gets to the 20-second point the seek bar and running time continues past 20-seconds, but the 20-second Preview keeps playing over and over.
4. At this point neither Pause or Stop will stop the playing of this 20-second Preview. The only way to stop it is to exit MM.

I looked in the online MM V4 Help and didn't find any information to solve this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This problem still exists with MM V4, B1466.

Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Beta section? When I made the original post for this issue I wasn't sure if I had a user operational problem or if this was a bug. Since no reply indicated I was doing something wrong I'll assume this is a bug. I would have posted this B1466 problem in the Beta forum but I didn't want to make a double-posting.

I ran this execution of MM V4, B1466 (Debug version) from my main Windows XP Professional, SP3 system as a portable install from a Synology DS410. I ran as follows:
1. Started MM.
2. Selected a Preview in the tree. The Preview song length was 20 seconds.
3. Selected all the songs loaded in the window and selected Play Now.
4. Let the first two songs play without "touching" anything. They played normally for 20 seconds each.
5. Rated the 3rd song. As soon as I did this the time to the right of the seek bar changed from 0:20 to 2:28 and the same 20 seconds seemed to play over and over even thought the time to the right of the seek bar kept advancing beyond 0:20.
6. By repeatedly pressing the Stop button and the Play/Pause button MM finally stopped playing.
7. Exited MM and it terminated normally.

Thank you, I can replicate the issue.

If you play a preview and rate it while playing then the length on the player changes from 20 seconds to the full track lenght and the playback is slowered to the very low speed according to the ratio preview length / track length.

The result is a little bit ambient and funny sound

Hi. not sure if i should put this here. Exactly the same happens when I use the earliest date script and it updates the date.
