MM crashes as soon as i try to do something [#9272]

Post by sa-wa-ro »

hi all,

I just installed a new widescreen monitor (samsung 1920x1080) and when i started MM it crashed as soon as the splash screen came up. i re-installed MM and now the splash screen is ok until i try to do something and then it crashes. i have renamed the .dll file and uninstalled & reinstalled quicktime and tried changing the skin but to no avail. any ideas?

You may want to send a debug log (step 4b) to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Hey sa-wa-ro, sounds like the same thing that happened to me recently. I too added a Samsung widescreen monitor and shortly afterwards I noticed MM was crashing at the splash screen. I found out that a program that came with the monitor called "MultiScreen" was causing the crash. it seems to be something connected to the skinning feature in MM. Did you get and install this program with your Samsung?

@mfmathis75, please also send the debug log for this to support and mention that you use that program.

thanks mfmathis75.....

i had indeed loaded the software that came with the screen.... i have now uninstalled the multi-screen software (don't really need it) and reloaded MM..... which now works fine again.

many thanks for putting me on the right track.

cheers
