I had a couple thousand language podcasts on my computer that I paid for; however, now nearly all of them are gone. I had them stored in folders like D:\Music\Spanish or D:Music\Korean, etc. I had downloaded them with iTunes, and eventually moved and organized the files in the aforementioned folders. Then MediaMonkey came along, added those files as podcasts (though there are no url addresses in the podcast title) and, unbeknownst to me at the time, deleted nearly all of those files. Obviously the global setting for the other podcasts to which I was subscribed in MM was set so that after a certain number of days they'd be deleted. I didn't realized that MM automatically adds any file that is labeled "podcast" as a subscription, then applies global podcast settings to those files. At least I'm pretty sure this is what happens, unless I'm missing something.
I'm fairly certain the answer is "no" at this point, but is there any way to get those files back, keeping the following in mind: 1) I no longer have paid subscriptions to those services, so I can't download them again. 2) MM deleted these files some time ago, and I just realized today that it had happened as I was searching for some of those files to use. A lot has happened on my disk since then, so those files are likely obliterated. I'll try using a recovery tool on my disk; however, even if it finds some, I imagine they'll be a spindly, random assortment of files. I'm pretty bummed with MM at the moment since I spent a bunch of money, time, and energy getting and organizing these files for my studies; maybe I should have known this would happen, but I didn't expect the files would be treated as "subscribed to" podcasts upon being recognized by MM.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I unfortunately think that nothing can be done to rescue the files (you can check the Recycle Bin to be sure they're not there).

Yeah, that's what I thought: despite what Coldplay sings, Everything is lost!
Anyway, the main reason I posted is just so that it doesn't happen to anyone else, so thanks for entering a bug.
(Actually, I was able to recover a few, a paltry few, files compared to what I had using CGSecurity's PhotoRec (not only for photos), so perhaps Coldplay was right after all. Don't think it'll do much good as, of course, the episodes are too sporadic, a couple beginner, a couple intermediate, a couple advanced. I'll just have to work a couple extra days this year to buy back what was lost. <sigh>)

iTunes doesn't let you re-download the files? Doesn't it have a record that you purchased them?

Re: MM deleted paid-for language podcast files
No, I didn't purchase them through iTunes. I did use iTunes to download a lot of them--I had to put in a username and password to access the feed, but those no longer work for the feeds.
In any case, due to holiday specials, I was able to download most of the files for a pretty low price, so that makes me feel better.

Wow, sorry this happened to you. Glad you were able to repurchase at a cheap price though.
