many issues, like too many files

Post by mickey9891 »

I'm new to MM. I have several issues. Please help

I downloaded Free version to test and plan to upgrade to gold if I can get it to works.

I have doubles and triples, and more files and they are not all int iTunes so searched all files in my computer. I didn't see the option -ignore files shorter than 20KB and ignore files shorter than 15 seconds- I know have C Window files, program files, etc. I don't necessarily want to delete everything under 15 seconds because i have funny bits, like somebody sneezing that I use for a ring tone. But I have a bunch of files I don't need.

And when I click song it will start playing it and all of the songs that follow. So I'll hear 4 sneezes and 3 window noises, and so on, and so on forever until I close MM. I just tried to stop it and MM crashed.

And it will play seconds of a file that should be a 3-5 minute song.

I have voice messages playing that must be old Magic Jack messages.

I have song shows 3 of the same files but it's played 4 times and it's still on the first file, playing over and over

MediaMonkey will scan into the Library what you tell it to. It sounds that you scanned the whole PC. You can start over with File > Clear Database and then just scan your music folder.

As for what plays it is determined by the 'Play Now' Action under Tools > Options > Playback Rules. Set it a selected files only option.

Thanks Lowlander. I finally had a chance to clear out the database and start over. I corrected the playback settings too. Next step clean up the duplicates.
