Version MediaMonkey 4.1.12.1798 Playback Stops [#13332]

Post by eliasro »

Gentlemen, after upgrading to version MediaMonkey_4.1.11.1783 to MediaMonkey_4.1.12.1798 version, the application does not perform the songs, it just "runs" all the songs in the directory. However when I put a CD, he plays the songs of the CD, but if I extract the CD and record it in, it does not perform the music. Can someone help me ? Forgive my google English.

Can you give a "step by step" (include every step) rundown of what you are doing, for example:

1. I installed new version of MM.
2. I scanned my files into MM library
3. I "can or can't" play those files in Library.
4. and so on ....... also CD info....

Hello, how are you, Mr MMFrLife thanks for answering and try to help, go to the step by step!

1 - I had already installed on my PC before a fully functional version, which is the MediaMonkey_4.1.11.1783

2 - I downloaded the new version MediaMonkey_4.1.12.1798

3 - I installed the version MediaMonkey_4.1.12.1798

4 - I performed the procedure to Search or Add files to library

5 - At the end of the process described above, I tried to listen to music and M.Monkey does not perform the song or songs selected.

6 - M.Monkey and just "runs" all the songs in the directory where is the music that I selected.

7 - For testing purposes, I took an original CD, I chose a track any and M Monkey plays the music selected and also if I select it plays all the songs from the CD.

8 - I tried to listen to other music recorded in HD and the problem happens again.

9 - Using the M Monkey and the same CD music, I draw the same music, thus recording in HD.

10 - After recording the song in HD, I tried to listen to it and the problem continues, it's the same music that plays without any problem on the CD.

These were all the steps that I traveled, I am awaiting some idea to solve the problem is occurring only in MediaMonkey_4.1.12.1798 version.

thank you

1. - 4. If you are upgrading from a previous version of MM, you don't need to rescan your files again just to get it to recognize what's
already in your database.

5. - 6. Do you mean "runs" through/down the files list and greys them out? Have you tried Locate Moved/Missing Files?

7. Huh....? If you select, it plays and also if you select, it plays? Do you mean if you select a single track and/or all the tracks it plays?

8. - 9. What do you mean HD? Are you using DVD audio or 24/196? Or, do you mean you are ripping the CD to a high quality format like WAV or flac?

10. Where are you ripping the CD to? Is it to a folder already in the library? Where are you clicking on the file to listen to it after it's ripped?

Since when trying to listen to music, there was the problem, I chose to recheck files.

Reply, 5. - 6.
Yes, it runs down the list, and the files are gray. There is no missing files. Files are in place.

Reply,7
If I select a file it does not ring, and runs the gray list getting the other existing files in the folder.

Reply,
HD Hard Disk means, that is ripping the CD to MP3, or copied a song and saving to HD.

The purpose of extracting and recording is just to see if what happens is only with old files, or if it is with new files.

I would like to inform you use Windows XP, Portuguese, Service Pack 3

Anyway I thank you very much your efforts in trying to help me.

You need to go over to the tree and open Entire Library collection.
Find "Files to Edit" and open > click on "Dead Links" > If files show up, use "Locate Moved/Missing" Files (Gold feature) under
File in MM menu, upper left of program > choose folder(s) where the files that are greyed out are currently in.

Missing doesn't necessarily mean "literally" missing form your HD. It means missing from an association to the presumed/previous path stored
in the database. Also, for "extracting and recording to HD", you can just say "ripping". Everything else is implied from that.

Thank you for spending your time to help me, I did all the steps you asked me, however, it seems that this update does not seem to work properly with files recorded in HD. I am choosing to reinstall the working version MediaMonkey_4.1.11.1783, and wait for a new version of MediaMonkey. Thanks again .

It's probably something specific to your environment and not the version itself, but its not a bad plan to wait and see if it does it with the next version. :)

Hello, I found it incompatible with Windows XP, it's a shame because I will not upgrade my operating system. Thanks for the answer

Works fine here on XP. Note that playback of MP3/WMA has been fixed in a new build, which should be available once beta testing starts again.
