Syncing Virtual CD

Syncing Virtual CD
I would like to be able to access the music from my cataloged CDs on my Android device, but at the same time, I would like to take advantage of the Virtual CD feature, so I don't have the songs duplicated in my database (as both a .CDA and a .MP3). How do I do that?
Re: Syncing Virtual CD
Hi,
First welcome to MMW forum.
Secondly in order to get the best follow these steps:
1. go to tools -> Options -> Library -> Virtual CD and Preview and set Virtual CD format (I would suggest either MP3 variable v2/v1 or M4A 70/80%, unless you want to go with lossless where FLAC is only real option)
2. Then set more common folder like C:\!!!MMWVirtualCD\ just in case you ever need to move your library to other PC that you can move Virtual CD tracks also.
3. Use simpler file mask like "<Album>\<Track#:2>. <Artist> - <Title>"
4. Press OK
5. Right click anywhere in toolbar -> Configure
6. Click On Add new toolbar and name it "Virtual CD" -> OK
7. Select new Toolbar and from right under TOOLS you drag and drop "Save to Virtual CD" to New Toolbar (a + icon will show when you Drag and drop it)
8. Insert CD and select all tracks from it in your MMW library under Music -> Location
9. After all tracks on CD are selected Click Newly created toolbar icon Save to Virtual CD
10. Eject CD and see if it is still playable, if yes proceed to next one till you are done caching all Audio CDs Under MMW Virtual CD.
I suggest to do a few and then try to sync to Android and see the results.
If you still any questions feel free to ask.

Re: Syncing Virtual CD
Thanks for your reply. I was trying to select the folder the MP3s are stored in (e.g. C:\!!!MMWVirtualCD\) under Tools/Options/Portable Device Sync/[select device][Configure button]. You can't select that location, but I see that it works when I tell it to sync the CDs instead. I'm happy now.
One little feature that would be nice when we configure what to sync would be if we could click the checkbox to select all locations, then deselect any folders or CDs that we don't want to sync. I wouldn't have to do as much clicking that way. It's a lot of clicking to check the boxes for all my CDs individually. That's not a big deal, though.

Re: Syncing Virtual CD
Hi,
Glad it worked for you, I should had been more clear on how to use Virtual CD feature
Regarding Audio CD Grouping I created Separate collection "Audio CDs" where under Criteria I only Set Extension --> Equals -> .CDA that contained only my Audio CDs and afterwards it was easy to set it for syncing.
Improvement to handling of Audio CDs is on out ToDo plate for future MediaMonkey versions.
