So renaming the M3U in Windows Explorer to PLA doesn't do the trick?
It would really mean that Media Go uses some kind of own protocol to sync it.

To confirm, could you please do the following test:
1) Copy music+playlist using Media Go
2) Download the music and playlist from the device to PC (using Windows Explorer)
3) Delete the music+playlist on the device
4) Copy the music+playlist (previously synced by Media Go) to the same location on the device, but using Windows Explorer
=> this way we can confirm that plain file copy isn't enough to sync the playlist?
Hello,

1. I changed playlist.m3u to playlist.pla, format changed, because icon of playlist changed too. But walkman does not see playlist.

2. I did test, tell me if did something wrong, I will do it again :) . Im gonna try to write what I did as detailed as possible.
1. Synced playlist to walkman. (songs transfers from pc to walkman automatically when syncing playlist, but if I had to transfer music and playlist separately, just say, I will do this test again)
Songs appeared in Walkman>Music folder, and songs appeared in separate folders (H>Walkman>Music>Artist>AlbumName>songname.mp3
e.g. H>Walkman>Music>Byrds>There is a season>song.mp3, H>Walkman>Music>Kiss>Crazy Nights>song.mp3 .
2. Dragged Albums from Music folder, and playlist.pla from walkman to New Folder on PC.
3. Deleted folders from Music folder and playlist.pla from Playlist folder.
4. Then I put everything back in Walkman.

In Walkman, Search>Folders , these music folders appear, but Search>Playlists it gives me the same error (No playlists available)

Ok, just to confirm:
Was the playlist.pla created by "Media Go" and visible by the device in the step 1 ?

I also saw here: http://mediago.sony.com/enu/support/fre ... -questions
" Alternatively, restarting the phone will also cause the playlist to appear."

Could you try to restart the phone after the playlist transfer to see whether it does the trick?
According to the Media Go's FAQ it looks that it transfers playlist also in MSC mode so it should be about plain file copying.

Playlists never was visible by device, it was visible via PC in H>Walkman. And in H>Walkman it was visible in step1.
My device is Sony NWZ-x1050, its a mp3 player, not a phone. There's reset button on a player, I tried it too, but still player doesnt see playlists.

ok, so again to recap the steps:

1) Copied the playlist.pla using Media go and the player saw the playlist, right?
2) Downloaded the playlist.pla from the device to PC (using Windows Explorer)
3) Deleted the playlist on the device => player doesn't see the playlist anymore (it was deleted).
4) Copied the same playlist.pla (that was created by Media Go in step 1 and downloaded to PC in step 2) using Windows Explorer to the same location as in step 1
=> player doesn't see the playlist (even after reset)

Is it exaclty like this?

In first step, playlist is not visible by player , it gives error (no playlists available). Its only visible in Computer>H:Walkman>Playlists>playlist.pla.
Yes I did all these steps, did reset. But still player gives error:"no playlist available. please connect to compliant software or device and transfer playlists"

In the first step the playlist is not visible by the player??

So even if you sync using Media Go then the playlist isn't visible by the player, previously you indicated that Media Go works to transfer the playlist successfully ?

No its not visible by player itself. I never said that playlit transfered by MediaGo is visible by player, I said its only visible by PC in H>Walkman>Playlists.

I did some stupid thing and it worked :D . In H>Walkman>Playlists folder, I created folders named playlist.pla and playlist2.pla, and put songs in there. And now player itself sees playlist. When I selected Playlists in player, it didnt give me error :) . It opened Playlists, both playlists in player was displayed as "unknown" , but when I selected playlist, all songs I puted was there and player played that songs :) . So player sees folder named playlist.pla as playlist, but not completely, because playlist name isnt displayed, its just called "unknown" in player.

Main reason I wanted playlist in my walkman, was that I needed song search by scrolling letters on top of the players screen (like on iPod there's letters on the right), walkman have this letter scrolling in "All Songs", "Artists", "Albums" , and I thought that if I get Playlists work, this function will be in playlists too, but now I see that there's no such a thing when navigating in Playlist. Its such a must have thing to me, and Im very disapointed that Sony didnt added this very simple function in Playlists, that you could jump to song when listening a playlists, such a shame. Now to jump to a song you need to select "All Songs" and just then you get "letters search", but I have a lot of songs and I want to stay in particular playlist and have posibility to use letters to scroll through the songs.
Was it really very hard for Sony to insert same code as in "All Songs" in Playlists when they was writing software....
