Hi everyone,
first of all, sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum for my question. I wasn't completely sure where to post it.
So I just moved from iTunes to MediaMonkey. MM found my entire song colection but what bugs me is that my ratings and playcount are all gone. I googled a bit and what I found was that right when I installed MM I was asked whether I want to import metadata etc. from an other player, but all I could select was Windows Media Player. I tried reinstalling MM, but it doesn't give me the option again. It's quite possible that it didn't ask me because I uninstalled iTunes already (I also tried reinstalling it, but somehow the download crashes half way through). However, I still have the xml-file containing my ratings and playcount that I exported from iTunes. Is there any way to import it to MM? I couldn't find the option I need, yet.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Moving from iTunes to MediaMonkey
Well, I reinstalled iTunes, but I still don't have a clue how to restore my playcount and ratings. Further, now it seems like iTunes won't import the playcount or ratings. As I said, I saved and backed up the exported .xml-File that contains my playcount ant ratings...
Re: Moving from iTunes to MediaMonkey
When importing it goes to ....C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml
and searches for key 'iTunes Library XML Location:1' to find where the XML data are.
If it fails to find it there then it tries
[your music folder]\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml
[your music folder] is the default Window's Music folder, mine is C:\Users\Ludek\Music\
Hope this helps.

Also, fyi, the 'import metadata from iTunes' dialog appears after you initiate a manual scan. i.e. File > Add/rescan...

Re-opened http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8411, the key
<key>iTunes Library Location:1</key>
is no longer presented within the iTunesPrefs.xml
Until this is fixed the workaround is to copy the 'iTunes Music Library.xml' file into
C:\Users\<user>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml
(i.e. the default location)
