Newest iPod Shuffle wont sync

I have tried everything and read what i can find.

I recent purchased the newest iPod Shuffle...

I have a playlist in MM that autosyncs to the shuffle.
when i unplug the device after sync..
and plug in the headphones.. "it says please use iTunes to sync this device"

now if i open itunes, it shows the songs on the ipod.
without doing anything, if i then unplug it it works fine.


so what do i need to do.

I am running an older version of iTunes per the wiki..

and have tried all i found on the board.

but i must have missed something.

Which MM version are you using? MM 3.0 doesn't support this new iPod model, but MM 3.1 (currently Release Candidate 2, available from beta forum) supports it.

Newest Ipod still having issues


I am running 3.1.0.1250

after syncing the ipod, and safely removing device,

the ipod will tell me to "Please use iTunes to sync music to this ipod"

now i had used a version 3.1 that did work perfectly, MediaMonkey 3.1.0.1248



another note, the autoplay used to launch media monkey, but now it acts as if im inserting a flash drive.

Did you recently upgrade iTunes? Maybe the new iTunes broke the sync functionality with MM, as it did for iPhones/touches:

no, i dont even have itunes installed.

once i had read the ipod issues i uninstalled it.

but during the upgradings of 3.01 it stopped working.


everything else works, and i can even see the songs via MM but its like it doesnt finilize or what not.

From your posts I'm not sure, there was some MM version that worked for you and the current doesn't? If it's so, can you try to install the older version to check out whether it really still works?
