FLAC downsample [#9509]

I have a big collection of HI-Def music, which include flac files in 24/96 and 24/192 formats.

MediaMonkey plays them beautifully on my PC, but sadly my phone gear (Motorola Defy + Android CyanogenMod 7 + Poweramp) has problems with 24/192 files. Not with 24/96, which play ok on Poweramp.

I was told that Android does not play 24 bit audio, so that Poweramp downsamples 24/96 files on the fly. Acceptable to me as my main concern is not keeping the quality intact but quick sync from my PC. I have no problem with space on the phone, so being big files is not a problem for me either.

So my 16/44, 24/96 flacs all copy straight to the phone and it's ok. No problem there.

Buy I need 24/192s to be downsampled so the phone can play them.

Now, how can I do that? When i select to resample from flac - to flac i don't get a sample rate selector. Just compression factor. Any help ?

Now is there any other solution that anybody may think of? any other lossless formats that android may read and that MM may downsample ?

Sample size can't be set, but converting to another format may work. You would need to try and see.

Have you tried http://xrecode.com/ and use preprocessing option to change bitrate?

Please note that whatever you do even with FLAC tracks it will be lossy conversion.

I already have software to change simple rate and/or file formats, so I don't wnat that. I just want to have MM do it for me!!

I'll try converting to other formats.
