Auto-sync does not delete files but simply nothing

When trying to auto-sync an already filled-up device I wanted MM to delete files not on the auto-sync list and substitute with other files (as it worked with the about 2 years older version). With the actual one, I cannot find no way how to achieve this. When auto-syncing a full devices it simply does nothing. The only workaround I found to this is to manually delete all files from the device before syncing. Any idea?
