the following item won't be added to the list
Cuban Pop; Alternative/ Indie Rock; Adult Alternative Pop/ Rock; Contemporary Pop/ Rock; Cuban Traditions; Cuban Jazz; Latin Jazz; World Fusion
-> no 'Afro-cuban jazz', only 'Cuban Jazz' but the line doesn't begin with 'cuban jazz'
I just tried with your string entered into Grouping field and such track is correctly entered into autoplaylist. Did you try exactly this:

You have two distinct conditions:

1) Style at beginning

Find What: ^Cuban
RegExp1: Checked
Replace With: Kuban

2) Style not at beginning

Find What: ; Cuban
Replace With: ; Kuban

Could be just one preset:
Find what: (^|; )Cuban Jazz
RegExp1: checked
Replace with: $1Kuban Jazz

However, there is really not need for this. He could create wanted autoplaylist just fine as I explained.

@guest: Ah yes now your tip is working, I made a mistake the first time ('all' instead of 'any')

But thanks to both you and Owyn for the help!

Could someone please tell me how to remove numbers in the album artist field? I have a lot of this, e.g 00. Skream. Thanks.

If you have the dot after two digits, then you could use this:
Find what: ^\d\d\.\s+
Into: Album Artist
Regular expression 1: checked
Replace with: leave empty

Re: RegExp Find & Replace 4.0 w/ 194 presets (2010-04-10)[MM2+3]

There is new version of this add-on: v4.0 - 2010-04-10
* Added: possibility to specify custom arguments inside of the Find what and Replace with strings, e.g. instead of 1 in some preset you could write <Number Caption="Increment" Value="1"> and when you choose that preset from menu or toolbar you would get dialog box which allows adjusting of that value; for description about this functionality please take a look at the Information section;
* Added: possibility to adjust source and destination fields inside of mentioned dialog box for preset, if you specify <Into Field> or <From Field> in the preset name;
* Added: option "Show dialog box for adjusting of the preset selected in the menu or toolbar" (you could turn off display of the mentioned dialog box, even if you have presets with custom arguments);
* Added: option "Modeless Find & Replace dialog box (allowed access to other parts of the program)" (now you could use F&R dialog without ever closing it);
* Added: option "Display of tracks in Find & Replace dialog box synchronized with main window" (when you change node or selected tracks, this is automatically reflected in the F&R dialog; fully functional with MM 3.1.0.1218 or up);
* Added: option "Show the toolbar button for the Find & Replace dialog box"
* Added: option "Show the toolbar button for the Presets dropdown list"
* Added: option "Show toolbar buttons for presets with enabled button in Find & Replace dialog box" (you could turn off all preset buttons, even if they have Toolbar button option checked on in the F&R dialog);
* Added: Folder, Filename and Type fields (Path = Folder \ Filename . Type);
* Added: Bookmark and Playback % fields (the playback position for audiobooks, the first field is in ms and the second one is in percents);
* Added: DateISO, SetVar and GetVar custom functions;
* Added: many new presets, some old improved;
* Changed: Save button now have 3 possible states depending of modifications in the F&R dialog - Rename, Update and Add (it is now much easier to create new preset based on some existing one).

Oh yes, there is also a new possibility to donate, if you find this add-on useful and want to support its further development.

I'm probably not doing this right. I want to append my own custom searches at the end of the 101 presets, but when I
  1. Click New,
  2. Start typing the new name in the "Preset 0/101" text box,
=> The box loads the closest match to the characters I'm typing, so that my new settings will replace the one that was matched. :-?

Nudge in the right direction, anyone? Thanks,....

* Changed: Save button now have 3 possible states depending of modifications in the F&R dialog - Rename, Update and Add (it is now much easier to create new preset based on some existing one).
The new version let's you use an existing preset as a template for your new preset.
Select Add to create new preset to create new preset at end of list.

Edit: Just tested this function:
Rename <= Preset name changed, template unchanged.
Update <= Preset name unchanged, template changed.
Add <= Preset name changed and template changed.

Results are slightly different in "New" mode.
The name shows partial matches to existing presets, this helps to avoid duplicate presets.
The Save state button is grayed out until you make a change to the template, at which point it changes to "Add".

As before, the changes are not saved until the button is clicked.

According to the number of presets, you are using the old version of this add-on. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the new version, not just because many new presets added, but also because of many new features and bugfixes.

The problem you are talking about is because of the Windows itself and its auto-complete "feature" for combo boxes. I hate this as well, but unfortunately there is not a solution to disable this, AFAIK. The only solution is to be careful with the entered name of preset if you don't want to modify some existing one. For example, if you want to create the new preset "Increase Rating by one star" and you start typing "Increase Rating by", the combo box will display "Increase Rating by half star" without any asking, so you should replace that suggested "half star" with the "one star" and preset would be saved with that name.

Ah, you came out with a new version just as I was making changes this weekend. :) Sweet, will update when I'm done with (US) taxes.

Owyn, thanks for the procedural steps above, I'll follow those when I next try this. 8)

Select all track which you want to modify, then choose Edit /Tag Manipulation Presets / Copy <Timestamp> to <Added>..., then set Source field: Lyrics, Destination field: Comment.
