DarkLyrics 4.7 (Updated: 2017-10-08)

[crap_inhuman]

DarkLyrics seek for Lyrics and save them in the ID3v2 Tag.

The Script based on Lyricator 0.9.6b and Lyricator V1.1.3, big thanks to "das Monkey" and thehammer !

First and foremost this Script find Metal / Rock / Punk Lyrics and add them to the tracks. But many Pop Songs can be found, too.

One feature is the matching between the (possibly) existing lyrics and the new lyrics found on one of the sites. If the lyrics are unique, you can compare them and choose your favourite lyrics. You can editing the lyrics before adding them to the songs, too.

Install and Configuration :

Just install the mmip-file from the Addons Page
To set some settings go into options -> Darklyrics. Little hint : The script only search for lyrics if the choosen track have no lyric. Unmark the "Only missing lyrics" in options to disable this feature.


Searching for Lyrics:

Mark the tracks and choose "Extra -> Scripts -> DarkLyrics".

I can't get the errors you describe.

Please enable log file in options -> darklyrics and search for lyrics again.
After that the script write 2 log-files in the folder c:\users\overlord\appdata\roaming\mediamonkey\scripts\darklyrics\get_darklyrics_lyrics_log.txt
and c:\users\overlord\appdata\roaming\mediamonkey\scripts\darklyrics\darklyrics.log

Please send me the 2 files.

Unfortunately, I've got problems after installing the plugin. It's listed in extensions but it's not in the list of scripts. Tried it three times without success.

Do you have restarted MM after install the script ?

Please look for the file scripts.ini. If you have Windows 7 you can found the file here :

c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Scripts.ini

In this file there must the following lines :

I had the same problem as the theschalker, and crap_inhuman's reply fixed it.

Also, a nice improvement would be the option to replace html escapes and other characters. For example, a lot of the apostrophes I'm seeing are either the html escaped version (and#27), or sometimes an accent character. It doesn't happen every time, but it'd be nice to fix it when it does.

I just encountered this one: Tarantula by Smashing Pumpkins. For each of the single quotes, I got "and#x27;". I'm not sure what lyric source it came from.
