Im running MM on an network with 'DBName=UNC-Path to MM.DB' without problem but I also like to use one instance of MM as upnp-server.
This works without problemes if only the upnp-server is running. If I start an other MM instance on an other computer this also start running as upnp-server with the same share names which leads to problems.
I didn't found the posibility within the Mediamonkey.ini to decide if the MM runs as upnp server or not so it seems to me that this is within the database which is used from all MM on my network.
Is there a posibility to assign the upnp-server to only one computer? I tried by changing the ip address from automatic to the ip of the computer for the upnp server settings but this didn't change the behavior and upnp server starts on all clients.

Re: MM on network and upnp
Are you running the same Portable Install on the different computers or does each computer have its own install? In the latter case just disable Media Sharing (Tools > Options > Media Sharing).

Yes, each computer has its own install.
When i disable Media Sharing then this is for all computers but I want one (and only one) computer running Media Sharing.

If you disable Media Sharing on 1 PC and it is its own install it should only be disabled on that PC. Do you have a shared ini?
