Gaps back in new beta and/or lollipop? [#12586]

Post by schwa »

Last week Verizon started pushing the lollipop update to samsungs s5's. I updated my phone and the very same day there was a mma beta update in the play store. So not sure which may have triggered this. But playback.is not currently gapless for me.

Android 5.0

Hi I can't replicate it on Lollipop with my devices. Please send your log after it occurs. Thanks.

I've just updated my HTC One M8 to Lollipop and then did a reset.
Installed MMA v1.0.7.0311 from the playstore link on the MM site.

Can not get any mp3s to play gapless using MMA,Google Music app or HTC music app
However
HTC music app does play FLAC files gaplessly. Occasionaly there is a very very small gap but 90% of the tracks I've tested so far were seamless.
MMA and google music app still plays with a BIG gap.
Don't know if this has any bearing on anything?

If other apps are experiencing the same problems with gapless playback following an upgrade to lollipop, it could imply that there's some sort of bug in lollipop that's triggering this.

As requested by Martin, a debug log would help (options > about > send debug log, and post the log id here).

Thanks.

Re. richiefinger - Gapless playback is available since 1.1 version.
Re. schwa - Thanks for your log. There was really bug. It should be fixed in build 1.1.0.0395.

I've uninstalled the earlier stable release of MMA
Sideloaded the apk v1.1.0.0392

The two FLAC albums I've tried seem to play GAPLESS OK :)
Tried five different mp3 albums and NONE play gapless :( .....these play OK on MMW

HTC One M8 Lollipop
MMW 4.1.5.1719
W8.1

Richiefinger,

This should be resolved in build 395, which we expect to post on Friday.

Please confirm.

395 fixed gaps, but some tracks on an album (always track 1, sometimes others) would always stop instead of moving on to the next track over UPnP.

399 fixed the stopping issue but now tracks [EDIT by Rusty: _gaps_ are back] are back.

Log file ID: CT36E9A49N

Reporting this in both threads as the issue seems to be ping-ponging (gaps > fix > tracks stop > fix > gaps)
Issues #12586 and #12613
