The new version is out! I haven't tried it yet, will do tomorrow, but I just read this: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view. ... 8#bugnotes
and it was actually pretty cool to read through. Whether this build resolves it or not thanks Rusty and all the devs for working on this

Well...
Installed new MMW. Deleted phone profile.
Removed MMA, removed folders, removed music and playlists.
Installed new MMA from play store (202).
Set up profile in MMW. Synced playlists. Set up MMA to point to music folder on sd card. All playlists look correct.
Reboot phone.
Playlists empty in MMA
Same playlists ok in poweramp.

HOLD THE PHONE!!!
So I didn't touch MediaMonkey yesterday. I don't think I rebooted my phone either though I'm not positive.
I did attach the phone to the computer to copy some movies over to the SD Card manually (I don't use MM for video) and MMW was running which means the card was scanned by MMW, but should not have actually synced (autosync is not on and I didn't click sync in case it copied all tracks again - I didn't have time for that).
This morning I went to MMA and my playlists are NO LONGER EMPTY! They all list the correct # of tracks again.
I'm not sure what happened but this is a good sign. I will play and rate some songs during my day and then sync tonight and see what happens.

Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
I tested again.
My playlists were working all day. Came home and rebooted, and all playlists empty. Connected to computer and let it scan, but not sync. Playlists still empty. Ejected phone, had MMA check for new media. Playlists still empty. Force Stop MMA, when I start it again the circle progress thing is spinning and spins for a while as though it scanned my entire music folder. But playlists still empty.
So I did a sync. It only copied the playlists over, it didn't copy all my tracks again, so that's good. But the playlists still show up empty. I tried a rescan on MMA, tried force stop, etc, and playlists still show as empty in MMA. Those playlists are NOT actually empty - poweramp can read them and they have the proper list of tracks when I open as text, but MMA shows them as 'empty'.
Does sending a log help? Is there anything else I can send that might help?

Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
It's been working perfectly for me so far, 1st time in months. Galaxy s3, latest betas.
Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
Ok interesting...
I added 1 track to 2 of my playlists (the same track). When I synced again, it copied just the one new track, and then all of the playlists.
When I started MMA, the two playlists with the new track were both fine and listed the correct # of tracks. The others all still say empty.
On phone reboot, these two playlists joined the others, empty...
So the good news is the database issues seem to be fixed - I'm not syncing all of my tracks every time even if my playlists show up as empty. But the MMA is still showing my playlists empty after a reboot, even though they are not actually changed from what I can tell.
Attached a screenshot of my list of empty lists...

Had the same problem on my S3 after a firmware update. Opened the playlists with "Playlist Editor" (free from the app store) and the contents of the playlists were still showing. Used the "Playlist Editor" app save function and called the playlist by the same name as the original. Opened MMA and the playlists were there intact. If you end up with a duplicate playlist name in MMA, long hold on the duplicate playlist to select it and delete it using the menu at the bottom of the screen. Beats having to recreate empty playlists.
Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
Day 1 :
- wifi synced my DB in the morning,
- rated tracks during the day,
- came home, wifi synced (btw the speed of the new sync is amazing, thank god or rather the devs for that upgrade)
- went to bed
Day 2 :
- in the morning, rebooted my phone
- a couple of hours later, opened MMA, all playlists are empty
log id : 9VYMKFW6JD
MMA : 1.0.4.0202
MMW : 4.1.0.1681 Beta
GT 9300 / 4.1.2

Sync is still working in that it isn't copying everything every time, but it is not syncing back my play counts or ratings.
Playlists still becoming empty on reboot

Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
Scottie,
When you reboot, if you look in Albums, are they initially deleted as well? i.e. do they gradually become populated as MMA scans the device?
That was reported at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 21&t=74699 and if that's also happening to you, it might help steer us in the right direction.
Thanks.

Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
Well now on my last 4 reboots the playlists have remained intact... so I will keep you posted.

Re: Empty Playlists after reboot (Galaxy Note 2) [#11298]
On my side :
(starting from my last post)
So i have empty playlists after reboot, i then :
- sync again (MMA syncs by matching files existing on the phone with files in the playlists if i understand correctly)
- all playlists are populated and working,
- 2 days later, i open MMA (no reboot inbetween) :
Out of my 10 playlists, 5 are empty (the others seem ok).
So problem still there, and acting even without reboot (which is the worst as i dont even have a workaround - not rebooting - to avoid the bug)
