MediaMonkey for Android test builds [DEPRECATED]

Post by rusty »

This announcement thread has been deprecated. For pre-release test information see:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 21&t=89969

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're proud to announce that MediaMonkey for Android is ready for you to test.

The most recent 1.0 build will always be in the last post in this thread. To be notified of future builds, just subscribe to the thread.

During the pre-release testing period, we're going to post builds with a number of different labels:
  • Alpha builds are feature incomplete, and have undergone limited testing. They're for the adventurous among you.
Beta builds are near feature complete and have undergone more thorough testing, but along with many known issues, still have their fair share unknown issues.
Release candidates are feature complete, and well-tested, and should have all issues categorized as 'immediate or urgent' resolved, and have few unknown issues.
Developer builds are used internally for testing and whose stability hasn't been verified. They are shared with hardcore testers so that there aren't long gaps between formal Alpha / Beta / RC builds.
With that said, here's our first MediaMonkey for Android build. Before you rush into downloading it, remember that it's pre-release software and contains a variety of functions that haven't been thoroughly tested. The software is being provided for feedback and testing purposes -- please backup your data to protect against data loss.

What's new? Test Notes:
  • - To sync wirelessly with MediaMonkey, you'll need to install MediaMonkey 4.1+ (4.1 is currently in beta testing, available via the beta forum)
    - The test builds include all functionality, but expire after 30 days. Note that certain functions may become pay-only features at the end of the beta cycle.
Download Installation:
  • - After downloading the .apk to your Android phone/tablet, use an explorer (e.g. ES Explorer, Total Commander, Astro File Manager) to install the .apk
    - If you're prompted that it can't be installed because it's not from the Google Play store, go to Settings > Security and enable installation from '[x] Unknown sources'
    - After installing, you can find MediaMonkey in the 'App Drawer'
    - To test wireless synchronization, you can install MediaMonkey 4.1+ currently available via the beta forum.
Updating:
  • - During Beta stages of MediaMonkey for Android each update would be needed to be started Manually after downloading updated installation .apk
Enjoy and please let us know what you think!

MediaMonkey for Android 1.0.1.0072 dev build

Hi,

Thanks for all the feedback and reports on the first build. There's a lot for us to digest, so please be patient.

Here's a new developer build (i.e. the changes have not been verified) that fixes a few of the reported issues, and allows the widgets to be used on the lock screen.

What's new? Download
  • MediaMonkey: http://www.mediamonkey.com/beta/android ... _debug.apk

    Installation:
    - You may need to uninstall the previous build before installing this build--our apologies for the hassle
    - After downloading the .apk to your Android phone/tablet, use an explorer (e.g.
Test Notes:
  • - To test wireless synchronization with MediaMonkey, you'll need to install MediaMonkey 4.1+ (4.1 is currently in beta testing, available via the beta forum.)
    - The test builds include all functionality, but expire after 30 days. Note that certain functions may become pay-only features at the end of the beta cycle.

MediaMonkey for Android 1.0.1.0074 dev build

Post by rusty »

Hi,

The bug reports and debug logs have been coming in fast and furious. Here's a new build that resolves a few of the most significant sync issues, and many more that came in through debug logs. For Wi-Fi sync, this build must be tested with MMW 4.1.0.1610 or higher.

What's new? Download
  • MediaMonkey: http://www.mediamonkey.com/beta/android ... _debug.apk

    Installation:
    - Do a clean install of MMA and MMW 4.1 (i.e. uninstall the previous build before installing this build, and install MMA portable to a new directory)
    - After downloading the .apk to your Android phone/tablet, use an explorer (e.g.

    - Do a clean install of MMA and MMW 4.1 (i.e. uninstall the previous build before installing this build, and install MMA portable to a new directory)

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who's testing out MMA. The continuous flow of debug logs is helping us resolve a variety of issues besides those that you can see in mantis. Here's a new build that resolves more sync issues, and a variety of stability problems. For Wi-Fi sync, this build must be tested with MMW 4.1.0.1613 or higher.

What's new? Download
  • MediaMonkey: http://www.mediamonkey.com/beta/android ... _debug.apk

    Installation:
    - Do a clean install of MMA and MMW 4.1 (i.e. uninstall the previous build before installing this build, and delete the contents of the /MediaMonkey directory on your Android device)
    - After downloading the .apk to your Android phone/tablet, use an explorer (e.g.
