Search icon constantly spinning [#10166]

Samsung Galaxy S2 running andoid 4.0.4 with music on the SD card.

I've tried both builds of MMA With MMW 4.1 so far and it seems to be the same on both.

When i first installed it takes ages to show anything is sync'd to the device at all, the circle icon next to the magnifying glass icon spins constantly, I've been unable to sync wirelessly as it says a background task is running and have had to resort to over USB. As far as I can tell it seems to be either stuck or exremely slow at scanning the card for sync'd files, some files and playlists do show up, but playlists don't have as many files listed as they should. Because there is no file count in MMA I can't be sure this is MMA not seeing them, or MMW not syncing properly.

Files it does show seem to play fine, but play counts or any other data does not sync back to MMW at all no matter what setting I've tried. Also the drop down rating stars always show as empty in spite of them having already been rated in MMW.

I've since tried uninstalling MMA completely and deleting all Media Monkey files from my phone and SD card, but on reinstallation of the latest MMA build it shows only one track but the album art seems to randonly change to pick up other albums art with no discernable pattern and trying to play it gives an error message saying unsupported format. Both installations MMA ran constantly even after being closed and also being forced to close manually restarted and drained the battery continuously. If there's any other information I can give that would be useful please let me know.

I am also seeing the same issues, i created a thread here about it. The dev team requested a debug log which i've provided, i'm hoping that can assist with tracking down the issue!

Just a note, I was experiencing this too (on 2.3.5) and it is fixed for me in 1.0.1.0074.

fixed for me after removing mediamonkey folder from sdcard and reconfiguring sync. MMA is now reflecting changes and the sync icon only spins for a brief moment

I had no end of trouble for some reason, even uninstalling and reinstalling each new version didn't work, it kept picking up a solitary track as being in MMA and constantly spinning the search icon preventing wireless syncing, even though it had been deleted off the card prior in reinstallation, and I had deleted every single MM folder off both the SD and internal storage before reinstalling. In the end I had to clear the internal memory as it appeared either there was a hidden file somewhere or some setting had gotten corrupted. Just installed 80 now and seems fine, but will raise any issues if I find some.

did you delete the mediamonkey folder from your sd card after uninstall? it seems this is left behind and picked up again after new version install.

I deleted everything like that, it had no effect at all

when you say you "cleared internal memory" do you mean you wiped the phone entirely?

yes, had to start from scratch as everything I tried to clear folders or caches seemed to have no effect at all
