Random artwork missing following wifi sync [11289, 10756]

Using MMW 4.1.0.1656 & MMA 1.0.4.0162, after I have synced there are a few seemingly random artwork images that do not appear in the "Artists & Album Artists" view. If I select them from the view however, then the images appear fine on the Albums page - so they are definitely downloaded OK. If I go straight into the Albums view then they are there as well. Tracks view looks fine as well.

Thanks--I tested this out in 165 and found that artwork goes missing in a few different cases:
1) when Artist |= Album Artist ( http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10756 )
2) when the Album name contains a comma ( http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=11289 )

I just did a fresh complete reinstall with MMW 1662 and MMA 168, removing and re-syncing all the music.

The Big Star album #1 Record did not get its artwork sync'd.

Perhaps this is something I should know, but what is the "Big Star album #1 Record " and what do you think is particular about it that might be triggering a bug?

Since you have noted that having a comma in the album name caused a problem with album art, I would presume the hash is causing the same problem.

For me if a single file on Album has no Artwork, the Artwork on synced files will be missing (despite that the synced files do have Artwork).

Thanks for clarifying. I've re-opened #11289 (the bug about the symbols in the Album field interfering with Album Art).

Also, I've retested compilation albums, and they seem to be working correctly in 169, so I've closed #10756.

Lastly, I've tested the issue raised by Lowlander re. missing artwork if one track on an Album is missing artwork, and cannot replicate that problem.

I am using MMW 1662 and MMA 168 and I am syncing to a Motorola Razr M Android phone. After initiating the first WiFi sync, all music and selected playlists were synced to the phone. However, about five albums do not have album art in MMA. The strange thing is that when I did the same process using my Acer A500 Android tablet, those albums (including all my albums) do have their album art in MMA.

I checked these five albums in MMW under Albums | Files to edit | Unknown Artwork and Inconsistent Artwork. They do not show up there.

Do the files in question have embedded artwork? If yes, can you send them my way (via a PM + mediafire link)?

If not, is there any pattern that you can intuit about the nature of those files?

Sorry for the delayed response. I thought I had subscribed to this thread, so that I would receive e-mail notifications of new posts. I was checking up on the thread today, and I realized that I had not actually subscribed. Now I have.

Yes, there is a clear pattern that explains the five albums that do not have album art. They all have the "#" symbol in the album names.
