This has been a symptom I've seen for a long time. Every once in a while, the Previous button won't jump to the previous track or the beginning of the current track. Most of the time I see this, I'm on a Now Playing screen, hit Previous, and end up looking at the MM homescreen or, sometimes, the Android homescreen. Occasionally, instead, it does nothing.
I have not figured out a pattern for this. It happens playing local content or UPnP. It happens while playing or while paused.
I managed to catch it today when I had wi-fi connection, and so I sent a debug log: 56TDGWRS8R.
(It would be nice if that log ID could be put into the clipboard so I don't have to write it down.)
