"Pause" ignored while UPnP (at end-of-track) [#11617]

Post by mcow »

I was playing on my tablet with MMA from the MMW UPnP server. It got near the end of the track, and I paused it to keep it from advancing. The button flashed properly to indicate I'd touched it, but the track advanced and in the process of switching tracks, the player kept playing. I paused again, and sent a log, but of course I didn't note down the log number.

The reason i wanted to pause was to keep the next track from showing up as just played when in fact I didn't listen to it at all. I'm not sure, but I think that would have happened even if the player hadn't kept playing. So that's a different problem I'd like to see solved (like with a Stop After Current function in MMA). But the player should not have kept playing, regardless of what was going on.

Hi mcow,

Re. the failed PAUSE over UPnP, I'm unable to replicate this. I tried play/pause from various views, and using a number of file types. Are you able to replicate? If so, any hints? If you can trigger it again, the log number would be really helpful.

Re. the fact that the play counter advances if even a few seconds of the track have been played, you're right--that's tracked at http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10168

Thanks.

I just tried with 0.01 left on track playback and MMA paused, even at 0.00 left it paused, also at 0.00 on new track it paused.

Making the log number more available would be helpful. Stick it in the clipboard! Don't make me reach for a pencil.
I sent the log not fifteen minutes before starting this topic, if that's any use.

Good point re. making the log ID more accessible. Tracked at http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=11473

We'll see if we can track down your log...

I captured a log of this event: APXOQTMD2R.
UPnP play; at end of track, I was looking at screen and pressed pause; the button flashed blue, a moment later the album art changed and the next track started up.

btw, this is was the first log I sent since the new option to save it. Thanks.

I had the same Pause-ignored symptom, playing from local storage to a bluetooth speaker. Log: 8F3PN6EE0T. MMW 259.
