Acer E2 play history display/sync problem [#11511]
Hi
I have a phone ACER liquid E2 under android 4.2.2
I'm using the latest MM for Android and the latest MM for windows
I can put music on my phone without any problem, i can listen to it a lot, but then when i plug my phone on my computer, i don't see any play count change on my phone.
Exemple : if at first a song was never played, then i listend to it several time 3/4 or 5 times, but on my computer it's still 0.
What can i do ? What am i doing wrong ?
Thanks

You'll need to sync and you'll need the latest MMW 4.1 beta.

So i need to synch in order to synch ?
never though about that
...
Okay, thank you. I've tried the new beta and it doesn't change any thing. Is there anybody with that phone who want to try to see if it's the phone or my configuration ?
Thanks.

Only when you sync will tags be synced. Simply plugging in a device won't do the trick.

Re: Acer E2 sync problem
okay maybe the topic title is wrong, but i don't have any problem with the sync but THE PLAY COUNT AND THE RATING.
When i listen on my computer i get a count, when i rate, it's okay. I can transfer this play count and rating on my phone with the song.
But when i listen and ratie on my phone and plug it on my computer, no PLAY COUNT (except the one before) and no rating (except the one before)

Re: Acer E2 sync problem
I think that Lowlander is thinking that you're under the impression that simply connecting your phone to your PC will sync the changes, when in fact you have to click the 'sync' button in either MMA (to trigger WiFi sync) or MMW (to trigger USB sync). It sounds like you're clear on that concept, and that you've initiated either a USB or WiFi sync, and that the changed playcounts from the phone didn't get transferred to MMW.
A couple of questions might help us figure this out:
1) After you played tracks / rated tracks on your phone, did you do a USB sync? or a WiFi sync? If you did a USB sync, I suggest trying Wi-Fi as that would get around any buggy MTP drivers on the device).
2) When you looked at whether the play history and ratings transferred to MMW, did you click the tracks in MMW's Library OR did you click the tracks on the device (from within MMW)? If you looked at the device itself, I would suggest instead looking at the MMW library, and seeing whether the metadata has updated.
Let us know.
Thanks!

Re: Acer E2 sync problem
Well
I think i've some difficulties to express myself.
I don't have any problem with the sync (i have to change the title) but the thing is Rating and playcount on my phone are not visible on my computer.
So there is nothing to sync.
I've been thinking about it and maybe it come frome the fact that i'm playing mp3 on my sdcard on my phone. And not the phone storage. I'm going to try that and see.

Re: Acer E2 sync problem
If you play a song on your phone or change rating you'll need to sync again to see these changes in your MediaMonkey Library even if no new files need to be synced to the phone. This should also work for SD cards in the phone.Guest wrote:Rating and playcount on my phone are not visible on my computer. So there is nothing to sync.
Do you mean when viewing the files directly on the phone in MediaMonkey or viewing the files in your MediaMonkey Library (the originals on your PC)?Guest wrote:Rating and playcount on my phone are not visible on my computer.
You've not answered if you're doing a wifi or USB sync after rating/playing files on the phone. You should also add which version numbers of MMA and MMW you're using.

Re: Acer E2 sync problem
I tested as follows:
1 Synced Artist A to MMA
2 Played track1 by ArtistA in MMA, and set rating to 3 stars in MMA
3 Connected Device (running MMA) to PC (running MMW)
4 In MMW browsed the device > Artist A, and examined track1 (and _not_ the version of track1 that is in MMW's library)
-->Track1 displays with Last Played date/time correctly; Played# incorrectly (often)--tracked at #11511; Ratings correctly
Is this how you were testing?
