Rating sync fail to refresh in Now Playing [#11789]

Hello!
If I change the rating in the media file on my smartphone and synchronizing through wi-fi, the rating for this file is changed on the PC.
If I change the rating in the media file on my PC and on my smartphone is synchronized through wi-fi, the rating of the media file on the smartphone does not change.
This is a bug or the way it should be?

This is a bug--ratings should sync bidirectionally. I've tested this out with the current builds, though, and can't replicate.

Could it be that you have multiple copies of the track that you're rating? If not, please send us a debug log (Options > Send debug log).

One other question: can you also confirm that for the _specific_track_ for which metadata fails to sync from the PC to the Device _does_ sync in the opposite direction?

delete the appendix on the smartphone.
delete all residual files from it.
Install again.
I do the first synchronization.
Ratings are synchronized completely as on the PC.

I change a rating of any media files on the smartphone - synchronization - on the PC the rating of these files changes.
I change a rating of these media files to the PC - synchronization - on the smartphone remains an old rating.

Thanks for the video. I was able to replicate the bug--though it's a pretty minor one.

The bug is that the Now Playing Album Art view fails to refresh to show the updated, even though the rating has been updated in the device database.

To confirm that, you can just click the back button to exit the view, then click the track again, and you'll see that the rating has, in fact, been updated.

Hi,

I have same album in both library (MMW 4.1.0.1690) and device (MMA 1.0.4.0222).

All the times I change the ratings in the device it is updated in the library.

However, always I change it in the library, it isn't updated in the device.

What could be going wrong?

To confirm that, you can just click the back button to exit the view, then click the track again, and you'll see that the rating has, in fact, been updated.

If to press back and return rating doesn't change.
After restart MMA or smartphone reboot the rating isn't updated.

Based on the logs, it appears that the track in question isn't checked off on the 'Auto-sync --> Device' list, which would explain why it doesn't sync in that direction.

Can you confirm ?

Auto sync is off.
The track is not marked for synchronization.
But why synchronization works fine between MMA-> MMW but does not work MMW-> MMA.

I'd presume that on sync MMA > MMW always takes place, but that MMW > MMA only takes place for files set to sync.

It's because (in MMW) on the Device profile's 'Auto-sync --> Device' tab you probably have 'Auto-sync file metadata from the device to the PC' enabled.

Added tracks (album) in the auto sync.
A rating is not changed to MMA.
'Auto-sync file metadata from the device to the PC' turns on / off, nothing has changed.
